    X-Com: Ufo Defense

    http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=4966

Free download of the game, I now understand why it's always called a classic. It's ten years old and it's engrossing me. The AI is brutal and intelligent, it flanks me, ambushes me, tricks me. it's awesomel. It's somehow intense despite being turn based, the depth of gameplay completely makes up for the dated graphics.

Seriously, if you haven't played this game you should try it out, it's free and a small download. It takes a bit to get used to all the controls but once you start to get the hang of it it rocks.
"At first it just looked like a picture of a bunch of lily pads, but then I started scraping at it with my pocket knife and the whole painting just sort of spoke to me," Schmidt said. "For the first time, I finally understand what Monet was trying to get across in her work."

This is one of the first PC games I couldn't stop playing. The second one was X-com 2: Terror from the deep. Thanks for posting this Garr, I haven't played the first game in years.

They also have Terror of the deep and Apocalypse on there, havent tried those.

If you have any problems running the game theres a fille called "Xcom1fix" or something, run it from there.

Hmm...I never heard of this. That may be because I am not a huge PC gamer. Looks interesting tho...I'm dling it right now.

God I hope this really works, and i can get it to work on XP. I love this series, and my brothers love them too, especially Apocalypse.

So far it seems like something that could easily replace Star Control II on my comp, soon as I learn this godforshnukkin' interface.
                ...and that's why.

It works on windows XP, just have to use the xcom1fix thing.

thanks, i'll have to take the time to download Apocalypse, wait, if i already have apocalypse, can i just download the fix instead?

Or are UFO and TFTD the only ones that have a fix?

I downloaded Apocalypse, it says I need DOS to run it. It has no WinXP fix.
