What are you scared of?

What is your irrational fear or biggest fear?

My biggest fear is being disfigured. Like losing and arm or fingers or something. The thought of not having a leg or even just half of a finger scares me.

My most irrational fear is the book Pet Semetary. I once read it in high school and got halfway through(up until the part where the dad breaks into the people's cemetary) and it freaked me out so much that I put it down and have never picked it up again. I havn't seen the first movie and I don't think that I'll ever see either the movie or finish the book.

My biggest fear is probably failure at life...though losing a hand or something is pretty high up there.

Cars. Driving.

And the dark. I certainly wouldn't want to be ALONE in it.

Well, by failure at life, I of course mean the college education I'll soon be going for. I'm going to probably major in either Mechanical Engineering or Bio-Engineerings, but when I think about it...all the new breakthroughs and inventions made by such people...I don't think I have what it takes to make that kind of stuff...

I don't know if I can find out how to make an engine with nearly zero emissions, I don't know if I can manufacture a vaccine for AIDS or Cancer or something...and that's what scares me...if I can't do that...then what exactly will I be doing with my life? That's why I'm considering going into the CIA or something with a mechanical engineering backdrop, cause I think at least I'll be working with something big.

-Various scenes from horror movies will haunt me for ages.
-Silence; I've always thought this stems from a fear of being completely cut off from other people.

- Dying a very slow and painful death
- Losing my sight and/or hearing
- losing a limb
- being paralized (from waist down)
- living with constant pain
- Passing away before my parents do (this is #1 at the moment.)

- That I'll never amount to anything more than a nightshift data entry nerd.
- That I'll never marry
- That I'll go to Hell when I die, despite what I claim, this thought scares the **** out of me. I may be 6 years removed from Baptistical influence, but it's not enough to remove the thoughts associated with Hell.
- That there is nothing after death. You just... cease to be. I think this scares me even more than Hell, and it's really irrational, because if there is nothing, I'm not going to know about it.
- Not so much failing, but disappointing those who believe I've got potential to be something great.
- Those really big fat fly-like insects that feed on blood. Don't ask, just know that they terrify me.
- This is my biggest one. Severely violent car crash in which any of the victims becomes horribly disfigured or dies. I've been in two car-totaling crashes so far, nothing but a few bumps and scratches each time for everyone involved, but it literally gives me nightmares. I'm not the best driver around, but I'll be damned if I'm not a safe one.

Surgery. Nothing scares me more than that. I just can't let a doctor cut me open.
