    BGMs

OK, While the currect BGMs in the game are ok, I think it is a step back from RPGMaker1. Because even in 1, you could slow or increase the tempo, or adjust the sound so that even the same BGMs could sound different from each other. On 3, doesn't seem there is even an option.

that, and like 7 of them arent even BGMs, just Back ground sound effects, like rain, thunder, wind, etc.

I really like the selections there are... but you are both right as well. If I didn't feel that most of the few there fit my world, I'd be a bit down on the sound too.

I'm not down on the sound, I like the music, but not the amount. if there are more RPGM3 users then RPGM2, alot of the sound will be used more and more and more until we can actually 'hum' the tune while playing another's game just as it's starting.

They should have included more battle music especially. I think RPGM2 was much better music wise. Not that the music in 3 is bad, there just isn't enough of it.
          Games:

SS World (RPGM2) Extravaganzicon Contest Winner
          A Ronin Story (RPGM3)
          SS World 2 (RPGM2)

            Re: BGMs

maybe they will get it right in 4?

serously though, the bigger a game style you get (3d as upose to 2d) the less costumability you will recive becuase it increases drasticly the complexity of the coading and the amount of space everything takes up - also the amount of time it takes to achive it all. we wont ever see, or atleast not for a while, an rpg maker with as many loopholes and customability plus the ease of idiot proof design, as the origonal rpg maker for ps1 had.

then again, beating the system comes with time so we could very well find holes and squeekby ideas to circumvent the walls the game seams to have. give this game time and it might pull through.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!

              Re: BGMs

With Pitch and Tempo adjustments you can have just a couple songs sound like many.

Too bad they left that feature out in 3.

PLEASE put it back in 4. I know you can do it!

              Peace.

              MOO!

I think the BGM in RPG Maker 3 sounds awesome. I love it.

My only issue is the lack of battle themes... four just isn't enough.

And am I the only one bothered by the inability to change (or even mute) the Background Music while editing.

That same old melody is getting annoying.

Please tell me there is a way to do something about this (besides adjusting the volume constantly... I use a different monitor for gaming than TV and there's no remote for it).

                  Peace.

                  MOO!

When you load your game go into the options menu on the main page and there, in one handy little area, is the ability to modify what music plays in the background.

                      DUH...

I thought that was just for playing, not editing.

And I never thought to test it!

With so many things set in stone I guess I just got stupid and assumed this was too.

Thanks Muchly... It will be far less maddening now!

                      Peace.

                        Re: BGMs

That was actually the first thing I did because listening to the music for 8 hours is maddening. I usually listen to progressive metal or hip-hop while editing for inspiration.

                          Re: BGMs

It was the first thing I looked for, but gave up too quickly and somehow convinced myself it could not be changed.

I hate missing obvious crap like that.

Fortunately I watch Bugs Bunny or listen to Jazz, and Classical music for inspiration (check out wrti.org... Classical all day and Jazz all night, they're a local college radio station here where I live) so it took this long to drive me mad enough to post about it.

But now I'm glad I asked.

Those little things can really effect things so disproportionately it is not funny.

                          So, Thanks gain!

                          Peace.

Not to mention you can get any music you want for it too. As for RPGM3, the only quarrel I have with the BGM is the battle music. I just wish they added more. Hell, I wish they added more to the entire list, when nearly a third is "Out Doors Sounds".
