I finally saw Sin City. There are simply no words to describe how much I enjoyed it. Truly one of the biggest cinematic accomplishments in a long time for a number of reasons. I'm already drooling for a sequel.

Re: Better Late Than Never
I was dissapointed by it somewhat. Not that it wasn't good. It just didn't live up to the hype.
I did like Bruce Willis's story arc. Rosario Dawson on the other hand, does not make a convincing super-badass prostitute queen. The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

Re: Better Late Than Never
Anything that can make Elijah Wood scary deserves a Best Picture Oscar. Just look at Lord of the Rings and the Flipper movie. Oh wait, Elijah Wood's always creepy!Last edited by DarkwingChuck; 09-25-2005, 10:18 AM.I want that Mulan McNugget sauce, Morty!

Mind if I contribute as well?
I just saw 40 Year Old Virgin. It was absolutely insane. Loved it. I'm not even a movie person, and I loved it.
I especially liked the Pakistani peoples and the waxing.Last edited by RPGD; 09-25-2005, 07:01 PM.

Re: Better Late Than Never
God...this movie wasnt that good at all, IMO. They tried to make it exactly how the comic was. Nice effort, but it didnt work for me. Most of the actors were too damn over dramatic. The story was okay, but did not flow well at all. And what the hell was the point of even adding Marv? Just to have him? His story had nothing to do with the movie!
Sorry for the rants...its just I thought this movie was going to be something completly different than it was. Maybe I have been watching too many Terrintino movies...Current Project: Writing the story for my next game. That is all.

Re: Better Late Than Never
How does Marv's story not have anything to do with the movie? I'm not even sure how to go about responding to that. Try... watching the movie again...?
The movie is a popcorn flick designed as a filthy love letter to pulp comics and hardboiled film noir machismo. It's a visual experiment and an overacted, over-the-top feast for the senses. It's like Kill Bill - it's everything I love about the movies because it's got all the testeronie-fueled joys I want to see on film. With a dash of smart writing for good measure.
So yeah, it's not for everybody. Though I assume you read the comics?
