hay guys does any know if you change the weapons of that hero use can a sword and sheild warror use a bow or two handed weapon some how this rpg maker 3 starting make me made with lack abilty also it to me that you cant put monsters in dungens map im mad how you have with this

nope, weapons are decided by the character models you select in the class settings.
someone at agetec's forum seems to have found a way around this, but I havent had a chance to test it:

Holy cow... It worked!
I made a dagger person hold a bow!
downfall- even though he had a bow, he still swung it like a sword; this leads to my theory that if you make a archer/elf use a sword/staff/etc, he'll do the bow animation, which'll look hilarious, but still!
Anyone who normally uses a sword can use a dagger or staff or whatever!
I made a little girl use a great sword. That was awesome. I'm gonna give a dwarf a stick (the third dagger).

Lol, cool...I'll have to try it out. Course, if used in a game, it'll mean the character must only be allowed to use that weapon, I suppose.
Does show that all the characters could use all of the weapons...makes ya wonder why they didn't have it that way anyways, for further customization.

I'm very glad for that trick on the other forum. I was pulling my hair out trying to get the swordswoman's model to use a katana since it was pretty much the main focus of the game I'd been designing since before RPG Maker 3 came out.
I find it hard to believe an RPG construction tool like this won't allow for different weapon/model combinations when something like Samurai Western has not only unlockable models that use the full range of weapons available (little girl... dual-wielding axes... hilarity) but also an intuitive accessory editor which allows you to scale and place the accessories on each of the models.
And all that's basically just a little bonus thing. -_-

I can't get this to work. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Whenever I change back to the old class the weapon is automatically unequipped. And if i try switching the class back first I can't equip the weapon. Why is it working for everybody but me?

to get the link to work, delete the space between fa and getec. its a filter thing, I suspect.

I noticed Models that use Bows have close range attacks in their animations... are those used when the character is in the front row?

I was a worried we wouldn't be able to accomplish any limitation shattering breakthroughs like we did with RM1. I am ecstatic to see that concern swept away so soon.

as I am currently without PS2 (cousin is borrowing it), I just want to know a few things.
can dogs equip real weapons now?
do the archers now shoot arrows out of swords? (someone on gamefaqs said the knight wields the bow like a sword)

That answers the dog question..well...almost. You can only equip the dog with weapons other animal models would use. (Birdman for example)

Well, I got a townswoman to wield a Great Sword... and I was all excited my story idea would come to fruition.
Unfortunately I noticed as I was trying to make a katana-wielding swordswoman that this trick won't work for me.
A katana can only be equipped by a male, so I can only create a male class to use it... but since my character is female I can't assign her class to that of the male katana-wielding class. -_-
Or am I missing something?
If this is the case I don't think dogs can wield anything since they're set as "other" or whatever. -_-

I experimented and got my adventurer to wield a Thunder Axe. Unfortunatly he couldn't attack with it. Has anybody been able to actually fight with their new found weapons?

Awesome...i just wonder if there is any way to do it with finding weapons. Just cause i want Jeroak (lizardman, color 4) to be able to use a few different weapons. But apparently this only works with items you have in your inventory, not something you can buy. I hope there is a way to get around the limitations even further, but i havent seen alot of limitations yet. i'm just trying to figure it all out still.
i've learned that an elevation of 80 in the map editor is above water, and anything below is underwater. now if there were only a way to get able to move in, or under water, that would be awesome.
Edit: and i also havent figured out how to level the land well, i get these jagged hills and valleys, instead of being able to do gradual slopes, and level ground.

It does work if you buy or add the weapon with an event. And the chicken carrying a War Hammer is hilarious. Too bad he can't swing it.
