Installing RMXP on more than one PC

I installed RMXP on my PC when it released, and activated it and everything, but I got a new laptop last night and i installed XP and it would not let me activate it with the same code i used to activate it on my desktop. Is there any reason why i could not install it on two compters?

I honestly dont want to pay for it a 2nd time, and any idea what would happen if i had to remove it from my PC, and then reinstall, would it let me reactivate it, or would it bar me from using it?

Any ideas?

There's a protection on it to keep people from warezing it. I'm not sure what you can do.

grrrrrrrr, i need to get a way to put it on my laptop, as it is so much easier to work on my laptop, than the desktop.

Let me know how it goes, cause I also have a pc and laptop and I need to use them both. I mean jesus, the game was already pirated enough, it's a bit late to have stupid security like this that screws over the actual buyers.

This was what was in the email I had after I bought it...if you still have your email take a look at it..looks like you enter your serial number instead.

Perfectly valid question even if you are good with computers. I want to know as well, I've never dealt with this kind of security before.

thanks WtheD, i'll try that once i get a new laptop (the one i bought has a faulty dvd rw drive, so i have to exchange it. i didnt even read the email, i just have it saved.

same thing happened to me. Use your serial number to get a new activation code.

wont let me, it says the serial number has already been activated, it wont let me do anything other than the online generation of a new code, and it tells me it has already been activated. And of course, there are no phone numbers to activate it.

Hey valk, you got an email address for Enterbrain? i cant find an email address.

Edit: is it possible the activation code is linked to the copy i downloaded, as i'm not downloading it again, i'm just using the copy that i backed up when i oriinally installed it.

Thanks Valk, got a response from enterbrain tonight (posted in very bad english, hehe), advising me to contact Protexis concerning any problems with the english version.

So, hopefully, they will be able to get me the information i need, and get this resolved for me, cause i'd be really ****ed off if i uninstall it from my PC, and am unable to activate it on my laptop, only to reinstall on my PC, and be unable to use it at all.

Got a response back from protexis tonight, they advised they checked and my account was valid, and i should be able to use my serial number to activate it a 2nd time on my laptop.

After getting the email, i tried again, and sure enough, I got a new code this time, and now it is active on my laptop and my PC.

Quick bit of info, if you purchased RPGMaker XP on download.com and paid for it through protexis(which is the only way you can pay for the downloadable version), you have to put in your email address.

If you have any problems, email them from that email address, they can check your account without any other information except for an explanation of what was wrong.
