    GTA: San Andreas Special Edition

Today the publisher announced two more products in the GTA series: Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy for the Xbox and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Special Edition for the PlayStation 2. Both games will be released on October 8 and are rated M for Mature.

The Trilogy packages all the crime sprees of Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas into one box set.

In addition to losing the AO for Adults Only rating, the [Special Edition] will feature The Introduction, a featurette documenting events before the onset of GTA: San Andreas. The series of intertwining stories are told from the point of view of several of the game's characters, leading up to a drive-by shooting of Grove Street gang members.

Also on the Special Edition will be Sunday Driver, Rockstar's debut documentary film. The movie follows a low rider car club in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Compton.
The Trilogy seems pretty pointless. And the only thing new in the "special edition" SA are two short movies that will probably both be kinda stupid. The other day when I was RPGM3 hunting I saw that fye at our mall is the only place that's still selling the original GTA:San Andreas, proudly displayed with an AO sticker. I almost bought it just for that.

It'd be hilarious if the Hot Coffee mod was in it again.

        It's not a mod.

the special edition seems very pointless, though the trilogy pack wouldn't be so bad as long as the price is low enough & assuming you don't already own all three(or two, or even one.. unless you like multiple copies of the same game). or... let's say you own vice city, you could trade that in to lower the purchase price of the trilogy and still get your game back.

and so on and so forth...

No, they already released a sex minigame free new M-Rated version. Now they're re-re-releasing it with a couple stupid little film/featurettes as the "Special Edition". Very pointless.
