rpg maker 3 the good and the bad

well i am making a list of all the good things that they did and all the bad things that they removed or where two lazy to add

ok i split the catagorys from - to +

    + is good
    - is bad

this list is a simple + and - rating system

    -------------------abity system

+ characters can have abitys that are uniqe
+ simple to use, easy to edit.
    + monsters can have abilitys.
+ vary easy to use even a 10 year old would learn this stuff in a day or 2
    + can have 300 items\weapons\shields total

    - the game sometimes slows down randomly.
    - unable to create your own effects (posion other stuff)
    - but after learning it he will soon find out how limiting it is.
    - no online capabitys. or 2 player modes.
    - unable to create other genes of rpgs (aka fable)
    - unable to create limit breakers
    - only able to create events for day and night (why is there no after noon? or before night events!)

    - only able to create 100 monsters...
    - monsters only have 3-5 animations per monster when it clearly says on the back characters\ monsters have over 3000 animations i am gessing this is total animtions. but it would of been nice if the monsters at least had 10 animations per monster.
    - i find it vary anoying that it is not like a rts map editor even the most basic rts map editor wood of been better for terrain editing
    - you cant set weapons to have magic spells like in rpg maker 1 (boo!!!!!!)
    - creating a ocean of water is neary imposable

--------wishs for rpg maker 4 for the 360

we all know creating anther rpg maker for the ps2 will only result in anther game like rpg maker 3 but a tad better.

so the next gen rpg maker will be even better

= not for 360 or not planed for 360
= must have online capabitys (x-box live)
= must have top notch grafix
= must have ability for weapons
= must be able to set a chance of the enemy to use a abity.
= must be able to populate the towns with 100's of enemys
= Must have other genes of rpgs allowing you to create fable like games!

    Good: Pretty.

    Bad: No Cow.

Good: Some people think it is easy.

Bad: I find it counter intuitive.

    Good: I'll get over it.

    Bad: No Cow!

    Good: Large open areas.

Bad: Can't fill them with nifty stuff.

    Good: Lots of animals.

    Bad: No Cow!!

    Good: It has variables.

    Bad: No camera control.

    Good: Lots of animations.

    Bad: Ya can't use 'em!

Good: Lindemans Cassis Lambic (it's what I was drinking when I first got the game and what I will be drinking with it this weekend and what you should be drinking if you are of age and like beer at all).

    Bad: STILL NO COW!!!

    Good:

    Peace.

    MOO!

why do you want it to go to the 360? enterbrain has shown no interest in the microsoft consoles, and why would you want it to have Xbox live?

RPG Maker 4 will not be for the 360, so... yeah.

why do you keep typing ABITY? At first I thought your L key was broken or something but there's plenty of Ls in your post. Is "abity" an inside joke or a reference to something, or just something you always do? I'm not picking on you about grammar, there's a few mistakes but I just figured this is something you do on purpose I just don't know the reason.

Also, pretty much everything you've said about what should be in the next RM has been said in the topics that are specifically about what people want in the next RM. It wasn't necessary to make a new topic about it rather than post in one of those.

Because it's the only next gen console with an official online service for downloading upgrades and an in-the-box harddrive for storing extra information. To me it'd seem like a smart idea but the Japanese hate anything American and we all know signing a deal with Microsoft is like giving your license away (or maybe that's signing a publishing deal with EA, I forget which).

Either way, the ps3 will have an attachable harddrive. Hopefully Sony actually, you know, SUPPORTS IT instead of blowing it off the day of it's release. That was so lame.

I don't have a single bad thing to say about the game. I knew what to expect and I'm working around the limitations or changing my ideas to fix them. No use crying over something that can't be fixed and I sure as hell won't let my $50 go to waste like I did with rpgm2. All my creative stuff goes to rmxp but rpgm3 has a special place in my D&D loving heart.

well the 360 is going be out nov and the ps3 is coming out sometime in 2006

and yes downloading extra content will be awsome

and yes my L key is almost broken i have to press it 5 times to get it to work

so far i find rpg maker 3 but there is one thing i wish you added that is weapons must have abilitys!

i mean it was in rpg maker 1 and 2 why not 3 >_>

this is vary confusing that you did not include it i mean it could of not been that hard to miss that you guys forgot to add that one litte thing.

now i can't have my super death sword with uniqe abilitys.

What are you talking about? You can give weapons abilities like poison and crit-up.

I'll be honest, I don't want consoles to be downloading upgrades, because before you know it game will come out full of bugs because they know they can just patch it later... like how they do it on the pc.

RPGM games are always gonna be limited when on the console systems, there is a reason why developers need different, more powerful systems to create the games.

well that limit was in a playstion 1 game titled rpg maker 1 so i do not see why not bring it back >_>

When you make a pc game you have to accomadate for 50 million different set ups and software that people use so it's literally impossible not to have bugs. With a console, you're only working with a single piece of hardware so there's no excuse to have bugs. Downloadable content is good because it adds more to the game. The hurricane pack for Ninja Gaiden was one of the most popular upgrades to ever be released even beating out a majority of pc mods in the shear number of downloads. I say bring on downloadable content.

Re: rpg maker 3 the good and the bad

I think giving programmers extra room makes them lazy, and the fact that the standard size for, say the Xbox360, is only 20 gig, there's only so much you can fit on there before your swapping around data for your numberous games. Just look at the Madden games, their save files suck a ton of blocks out of the memory cards, needlessly i think. But that's because they don't care, they got the room, so they just use it, wastefully. You allow them to give people patches and what not, they'll be releasing games to meet holiday deadlines, and then you gotta wait a few months so they can finish the rest of the features that were originally planned for it, and then store it on the small HD. No thank you.

                          OT:

                          Good: I have it.

Bad: I don't have enough time to play with it.

Funny how poeple wants strange things...not able to create oceans? well of course not. Every RPG maker is 1 generation console late. Like on PS2 you can make Bad looking Dreamcast game style. On PS1, you could barely do something that ressemble the SNES.

On PS3 we may be able to reach FFX graphics, but the animations wont be very nice. (my guess)

that of course stems from the fact that these things take 3 or 4 years to make.
