    Scripting...for RPG or anything else.

How can you do it. I mean, when I look at a script, usally I can understand, lets say..10% of it.

    Basic of the basic.
I make flash animations, and scripting is important in macromedia Flash.
I never really made any progress with scripting.

On the other hand, I did some scripting for AI in Wolfenstein (return to castle, Quake 3 engin) and it was pretty amazing. But I had a ebook on tips and with it I was able to do 60% of the stuff I had to do.

To all of you, who enjoy scripting in RPG maker 2 or anywhere else, how did you progress? You spent all of your time on project?

    Just tell me.

I love scripting in RPG Maker 2 when everything works right, but I'm very good at it. The first thing I did was study a small sample script. Then, I'd run it, and then run it again with different parts of it gone, and see what the results were. With RPG Maker 2 though, all you'd have to do is look at the name for the command.

Essentially, make an event with a command you're curious about and activate it to see what happens, maybe trying it combined with other commands to see what happens.

I find scripting the funnest part about RPGM2. Why? because watching the people/objects do what you told them to do exactly perfectly just gives a nice sense of pride. I only found making Buildings/dungeons/maps boring, as I'm not good at ideas for that stuff

I hate making the insides of buildings. I can never make them look nice. I think it's partially because of the editors themselves. RPGM1, I see only about 6 or 7 things to put in a house, one of those things being a chair that ONLY FACES ONE DIRECTION!! :angry RPGM2 has a lot more, but I create the walls and floor at the same time as placing objects, as I want to make sure that there won't be a bunch of empty space or not enough space for furniture. And yet, they separate building creation and object placement, meaning if I have to alter the rooms to place an object where I want, I have to get out of one editor and go into another, edit the wall to where I think I want it, and go back to object placement in hopes that the wall is in the right spot.

But it's just not the editor. Putting stuff on the walls is easy, I just can never figure out what to put in the middle of the room.
