    idea for game

has anyone here read the book ERAGON by Christopher Paolini? if you did, what did you think of it? i'm planning on making a game out of it( for rmxp) and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on whether i should do it or not, or suggestions how it would go.

I've read about half the book so far. There is so good stuff in there but the main story is too linear and gets dull in places. There are some much better books out there to use as reference material.

It is usually a bad idea to try to change a book into a game for the same reason books often don't make good movies - the medium dectates the art not the other way around. You would be better off coming up with your own story ideas or mixing some stories together.

You need to make sure the game is fun and interesting for the player and blindly following the plot of a book is generally not fun. You need to expand on the story to make it interesting to play and you'll wind up with you own story anyway. So why not start with your own story? You could set it in the same world just use different characters.

The Crown of Order demo is here.
