Dear EB Games: I hate you.

So today, I wake up, and the first thought on my mind is "OMG RPG MAKER 3 TODAY YAY." Go to school, and naturally, the day goes slowly simply because of my anticipation for the game.

    I finally get home and I call three EB Games stores. They don't have it. Finally, I try one more store and they tell me that the release date is on THE 26TH OF SEPTEMBER. I currently have the urge to smack someone in the face. Right now, Canada sucks. ;_;

I do not know what store to turn to now. My best bet was EB Games, and they've... BETRAYED me. Walmart is outdated. Microplay is poor. What do I do?

hmm...with all this griping it's raised a question for me. after it's all said and done, do you guys think 3 will be worth having to deal with all that crap?
the legends have returned...whenever i can finish these, lol.

Speaking as one of the more vocal gripers, I can say with authority...

Yes. It will be worth having to deal with all that crap.

Despite it's limitations it is still a creation tool for the PS2 and how many of those do we really get access to these days?

Plus, if this does not sell well there is no hope of an RPGMaker 4 for the PS3.

Or at least markedly less hope thereof.

I'll get used to it and stop griping after a time... but until then I reserve the right to have a love/hate relationship with this game.

I'm spoiled by RPGM2 and can't understand why they would choose to give us this. I know I was warned, but I expected something a lot closer to 2 in it's capabilities. Why people would want limitations is beyond me. But it is here and still capable of producing fine games... just do not have any expectations of doing anything custom at all.

Even if it is a one game wonder for me, it will still be a wonder!

        Peace.

        MOO!

I had worries... until I turned the game on. Then it was love baby.

yes. we must remain faithful to the series in order to keep seeing improvements. if no one buys 'em, why the hell should they bother continuing the series? doing it for the fans wouldn't pay the bills...

and only one. RPG Maker's essentially all we got.

...unless you wanna waste your time fiddling around with fighter maker.

Speaking as someone new to this game series, I am astounded by the choices I have been given. I had to turn the game off anyway to run some errands, but I was at a loss for where to start in the first place.

Honestly, I think some of you older players are a little spoiled. I'm not trying to be mean, it's just that I see so much potential. I've got a lot of learning to do. There is so much I can't even get a good grasp of it yet. I'm going to definately have to read the manual, and just mess with it for about a week, before I even know what I'm doing.

Sure, you could have more...but I think what we got is pretty damn nice.

i have phoned my eb (in canada) every day since the 20th and they tell me it will be in the next day. If it is not in tommorow i will probably try futureshop or something. Does anyone in canada have the game?

same for me. except i gotta go pick it up. i don't think it being this hard to get a game is normal, even if it is an RPG Maker. maybe RPG Maker 3 is cursed...

good luck with that. mine says they've only got like half of their shipments which since the whole place is like 13 square feet bigger than my bedroom(even smaller than most radio shacks) i'm amazed they'd even have the room for any new stuff. still i'm being pretty patient with them, but it's getting a little ridiculous.

EB Games has disappointed me. So has Best Buy, Future Shop, Microplay, Walmart, Toys'R'Us, and others that I do not care to remember.

So, I came to a conclusion: If these big retail monsters aren't gonna carry it, then I must turn to the little ones. I found hope. =D!

I called this store called "Gamenow" (thank God for Google, because they have that whole "local search" system.) They said that their supplier already carries it, and they will likely have it tomorrow. The guy is gonna call me at 4:00 PM.

                            IN YOUR FACE, BIG COMPANIES!

yep. more often than not in my experience the little guys are the lifesavers.
