Hey guys, most of you know im a residence in Houston Texas, infact, i know there are afew other pavies here that are from that same residence. Well some of you know that Hurrican Rita will be hitting us Saturday at 2PM. My family has decided to stay, but what do you guys think? I personaly think people are over reacting because of the Hurricane Katrina that wipped out New Orleans. So yea, hopefully our house is still standing...

My grandparents live in Dallas. I don't know how close it will get to there.

I'm not worried about it. But then I'm in Austin. I haven't really payed attention to Rita but I suppose you should just check out the weather report and see how bad it's going to be.

Yeah, my mom called me this morning to make sure that I had bottled water and stuff in case the power is out for awhile. I'm going to go buy a raft tomarrow.

If it was me I'd get the hell outta there temporarily. It's a catagory 5...more powerful than Katrina and the 3rd most powerful in history.

These damn hurricanes seriously have me a bit worried about the immediate future of this country. On the bright side, I'll start walking to work next week, as I heard that gas prices will start being around $5 after Rita.

I hope prices are not that high after the hurricane, i pretty much have to drive to get to work, and it still would not be any cheaper taking public transportation i think.

This is just crazy stuff, but I hope everything is okay and you and your family are safe, and dont lose anything d2k.

The hurricane should weaken a bit before reaching Houston, but that city is still in pretty great danger. I'd leave if I was there.

I hope everyone in Texas will get out to safety. The southern coast of Texas isn't going to be in good shape after Rita.

The hurricane should weaken a bit before reaching Houston, but that city is still in pretty great danger. I'd leave if I was there.

The problem for those inland isn't really the hurricane but the tornados it is likely to produce. Last time a big hurricane hit Houston it spawned a bunch of them.
