I can't get my avatar up

Okay I feel like an idiot asking this question but why won't the site recognize my avatar as a valid file?

Here's the exact file location on my comp: C:/DocumentsandSettings/Rob/MyDocuments/MyPictures/ImageExpertImages/vprofile-brahms.gif

I saved the image from:
http://www.ultrace.com/avatars/022104/psx/vprofile-3.php

When I try to put set this as my avatar is says its not a valid GIF, etc. file.

What's up with this? Thanks.
