    What to make next?

Aargh, I meant to make this a poll. What was I supposed to do after selecting the poll option, and is it possible to edit in a poll?

Essentially, I have 9 games I want to create, but I only want to choose one of these. I want you guys to tell me what you're most interested in, and I'll make the most popular choice. If there's any questions, I'll answer them.

Here's a description of the options.

    1) Thief of Magic - A small meteorite landed and a thief found it. The meteorite had a power that the thief used to take over the country. He's a greedy king, and is putting the country out of poverty. While many don't like what the country has become, only a few are doing anything about it. Others have tried, to be sure, but they have failed. This new group, however, knows his weakness. It's all a matter of getting the right things. Of course, they'll have to deal with the king's beasts (created from the king's riches) and army along the way.

    2) The RPG Maker - A video game designer is somehow sucked into the game he is trying to create, and loses his memory in the process. Now he's stuck taking part in a quest originally meant for the characters in his game. The quest itself involves elemental crystals (my favorite RPG cliche), though of course that's only part of the story, considering the origin of the main character. I'm uncertain whether I want to put this on RPGM2 or RMXP.

    3) Jester's Hunt 3D - The sequel to the original Jester's Hunt (though I'll try not to fill it with 20 times more stuff to find like Banjo-Kazooie's sequel did). The story takes place after the first Dragon Warrior. Mr. Knight has just married Princess Lara Gwealin, and are going to a multiplex theater for their honeymoon. Of course, Jester's going to be waiting for them, and Mr. Knight's going to wind up in another freaky quest.

    4) Ratz & Meece - A game based on Lode Runner, except the adventurer and the gold will be replaced by a couple mice and their cheese. I plan to throw in a few elements that aren't found in the Lode Runner games.

    5) Something Stupid IX - A comedy adventure starring Hero and his pixie sidekick, Sidekick, as they quest to defeat Evil Lord, whom had recently excaped from behind his seal. Doesn't help that Hero was the one who released him, or that Hero was the one who sealed him in the first place.

    6) Without Hope - The world is under control of an unstoppable demon who takes pleasure in the pain of mankind. Every year or so, he sends out his minions to wreak havoc across the world, and then chooses a set of "Chosen Ones" from a random town to try to stop this havoc. His choices even include helpless old women.

    7) Sisters' Wish (old title, now without one) - A magical power has been loosed upon the world, turning mankind into beasts. While mankind tries to cope with their new forms, some people are trying to find a way to reverse the effects. At the same time, there are those who want to keep things the way they are, for one reason or another.

    8) Block puzzle game - A game along the lines of Tetris games, except instead of blocks dropping down from the top of the screen, you're given a limited time to roll a block around a board to match up a colored side with another block. The blocks most often will have a different color on each side. I plan to include an arcade mode, puzzle mode, and other conventional modes. Possibly a Vs. mode, though I'll have to see if I can make that possible.

    9) Something at random - A game I'll create on RPGM1 simply because I haven't created any RPGs for RPGM1 yet. I'll try not to do much planning ahead. I'll just create everything as I go along, until I run out of memory. It might be interesting to see how this would turn out.

There's a few games that I haven't listed yet. Two of the games I don't want to do just yet (one simply because it's a prequel to a game I have to finish first). The third is Slayers' Reign. I will be working on that at the same time as these others, as it would take way too long to work on that I'd get bored long before I finished with it. Plus it's got a long ways of planning to go.

I vote for Jester's Hunt 3D. I'm having the same kind of problem you are deciding what game idea I should use.
    Games:

SS World (RPGM2) Extravaganzicon Contest Winner
    A Ronin Story (RPGM3)
    SS World 2 (RPGM2)

      I second a Jester's Hunt 3D.

I'd have to agree with what William has said.

I already said I'm going to work on that, just as soon as I get my computer this week. It's a game that's going to take quite a while to make, though, so I wanted to know what game to make when I'm taking breaks from Slayers' Reign.

Oh BTW, I meant to put in this info with the poll, but since I failed to get it working, here's what tools I'll probably be using for these games, if that affects any of your decisions.

              Thief of Magic, RPGM2
The RPG Maker, either RPGM2 or RMXP
              Jester's Hunt 3D, RPGM2
              Ratz & Meece, RMXP
              Something Stupid IX, RMXP
              Without Hope, hopefully RPGM3
              Sisters' Wish, RMXP
              Block puzzle game, RMXP
something at random, RPGM1 for the heck of it

                Re: What to make next?

Yeah, you guys probably should know why I'm doing a double-post. If not, YOU try editing a post in a topic on the second or third page and see what happens.

Anyway, Jester's Hunt 3D appears to win 2 to 0 to 0 to 0 to 0 to 0 to 0. So I'm gonna make that. I already have a few ideas for it. Kinda risky ideas, actually.

                    Now Jester's Hunt 3D appears to win 3 to 0 to 0 to 0 to 0 to 0 to 0.

                      Re: What to make next?

huh. interesting. i never have this problem. if the idea's any good it's my next project. i never get any ideas during a project not relating to the game i'm working on.

and make that four. it sounds like it'd be fun.

Well, guess I'll be the odd man out. I say either Thief of Magic or Without Hope. Probably Without Hope, especially since a jump start to the RPGM3 games on here would be nice.

Wish I could say the same. These ideas wind up coming to me at the most inopportune times. It's the biggest reason why I've never been able to finish more than one game. (Jester's Hunt only took two months, so I didn't have a chance to think up any new ideas.) The thing is, all these ideas sound good to me. It all depends on how well they turn out.

Yeah, I always get new ideas for OTHER games when I start on a game. It gets kinda annoying when I'm trying to focus on ONE project.
