    Edward Scissorhands

Who's seen this movie? I just saw it for the first time tonight, and I'm totally blown away by the soundtrack.

Danny Elfman is the man behind it (he also composed the soundtrack for Big Fish and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, among others).

If you want a sample of his stuff, you can get it in YTMND form: (most thought-provoking YTMND ever). I encourage everyone to give it a listen.

Oh yeah, the movie was decent, too. Any other soundtrack recommendations?

Donnie Darko and City of God are two of my favorite soundtracks Eva.

I thought Elfman pooped it up big time on Chocolate Factory. Not one appealing song in the whole mess.

Personally, I prefer Nightmare Before Christmas to Edward Scissorhands, mostly because I'm not that big of a choir person.
I liked the Unbreakable soundtrack, so I bought that a long time ago.

Yeah, I have the soundtrack on CD, it's a favorite of mine. I also have the Beetlejuice score, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure (the breakfast machine is the best song ever) and volume 1 of Elfman's "music for a darkened theater."

          Pretty awesome stuff.

Elfman does all of Burton's soundtracks. They are very close friends.

Danny Elfman was the front man to Oingo Boingo, if any of y'all were around that time. He also did Jack Skellingtons singing voice in Nightmare Before Christmas.

I must say I sorely missed an Elfman soundtrack for Batman Begins

It's already been done. Time for something new and serious with Batman, which Hans Zimmer pulled off quite well as always in "Begins".

Danny's score for the original Batman was excellent as well. Really loved the last scene and final Batman theme in the end with those church bells. Very gothic.

Yes, Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard did a fine job for Batman Begins... though I do wish they kept Elfman's classic theme for the bats-circling-Bruce-in-a-Zen-moment-kind-of-way scene.

Well when I saw the movie, I was "under" the "influence" and that begining song was damn freaky.

I've never seen a movie starring Johnny Depp.

I bring this up everytime someone mentions Scissorhands.

I guess missing a Johnny Depp flick isn't that surprising... for example, I've only see one Sean Penn movie (21 Grams) and three Nic Cage movies (Adaptation, Matchstick Men and Face/Off) and I don't think I ever saw a Rob Schneider movie.

But Sean Penn and Rob Schneider suck balls anyway.

...Wait, scratch that, I also saw Bringing out the Dead, so that's four Nic movies. Okay, I never saw a Sandra Bullock movie. There we go.

                              ...
