Even though Namco and Monolith originally intended to have the the Xenosaga storyline spread out over far more than three games, plans have changed; the latest issue of Famitsu Weekly reveals Xenosaga 3 will be the final installment in the RPG series.

Gee, I wonder why... Thank goodness. There's no reason a lackluster RPG series like that should stay running, I'm surprised it even got a 3rd game iteration when it'd probably make more sense to just release it as a movie.

The 2D'D DS versions of XS will probably suck.

whoa, whoa, whoa! now, xenosaga 2 might've been less of a game than episode 1, but, the series isn't lackluster.. alas, i guess the decision has already been made on namco's part.

As there wasn't much fanfare for the last Xenosaga release, it shouldn't come as much surprise much of the game is undergoing retooling, starting with the battle system.

This makes me a very happy man, cuz I am a fan of both Baten Kaitos and Xenosaga, though Xenosaga 2 crushed my hopes and dreams, I am happy to see that the DS version looks pretty good. And a Baten Kaitos 2! Baten Kaitos was easily my favorite turnbased RPG in years, so this is very good news to my ears. Thank you Namco!

Man, these Gaming Age forum dudes are great.

Maybe the cutscenes will just run continuously on the top screen while you play the game on the bottom screen.

Some of the cutscenes in Xeno were ~24 minutes!

AND I'LL BET YOU THE BEST CUTSCENE IN XENO WAS WAY ****TIER THAN THE ABSOLUTE WORST EPISODE OF DUCKTALES!

Seriously though, 2D remakes of the first two games should in theory cut out all the bull**** the ****in' series is notorious for. Right? Right? They're rebuilding the games from the GROUND UP... It's gonna be on the DS... that means it's GOTTA be pure gameplay RIGHT?!?!

...On the flipside: WTF is wrong with these people? How many times do they need to **** up the same goddamn story? They're never ever in a million goddamn years gonna get it right.

And I know better than to keep my hopes up for anything.

Well DUH the current storyline has to end with the third game. So that the other storylines can happen. Stupid 1UP.

All they need to do is get Xenosaga team togather with the Tales team and make a kick butt battle system. The biggest reason I haven't finished the second one yet is because I hate the battle system.

I thought they said this series wasn't going to line up with Xenogears. But seeing as how it was suppose to be the fifth story, would the 4th one be the creation of Deus and then shutting it down and lunching him off into space at the end so in the Fifth game he can wake up and crash the ship?
