So that tiny white robot is Marvin? I can't really picture it as being manically depressive...I really hope they do him right, as he was my favourite character.
The whole series is based on some radio plays he did in the late sixties. Even before the books.
But yeah, they screwed it up. looks like they are BASEING the movie on the books, HOWEVER-
it looks like they are going to try and cram all 4 books into the movie; even worse.
All of the above statements have been given the Staffmaster Seal of Approval. Have a nice day!
It doesn't look too bad. I loved the books, and I'm not one of those people who will say "OMG THE MOVIE ISNT EXACTLY HOW I PICTURED IT IN THE BOOKS, THERE IS NO JUSTICE". I don't see the movie to see my own view on the book, I see it to see someone elses unique view.
That being said, some of it looks pretty dorky. I see it anyway though, and probably enjoy it.
I've done some extensive research on the matter and apparently it was a serious science fiction movie until the director turned it into ghostbusters 3.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.
And um... Excuse me for saying but Hitchhiker's is pretty dorky to begin with. Douglas Adams' is so over-clever sometimes. (Keep in mind, I only read, like, half the first book so I'm not as PURE as some of you may be.) And if he wrote the BBC program (I DARE you to watch that) then the movie is already leagues above. This is pretty geeky territory and the movie looks like it's gonna reflect that. Bad? Good? Neh-eh. Hopefully it'll be all right.
And Martin Freeman has a three-second cameo in Shaun of the Dead, is in Da Ali G movie, he was the porn stand-in in Love Actually, and he's the 2nd lead character of the sweetass BBC comedy series The Office. Rent it on NetFlix and enjoy. He's a talented, charming Brit and I was hoping to see him in something big someday. Looks like this is it.
