This forum you posted this topic in is a more relevent forum to post it, but for reference:

I want XP. Badly. Three to me would be more of a casual bemusement, even if a few new game ideas may be able to be fit into its constraints.

RMXP if only for the translated sample games alone.

I tinkered a little with XP at a friend's house. It's worth every penny if you liked RPGM1 for its simplicity, but wanted more customizability. Plus, most of my friends aren't really into RPGM, so each time a new console RPGM comes out I have to buy them a copy for Christmas or something to get them to play any of my games, but w/ XP they won't need the maker to play the executable.

As for RPGM3, we're looking at DAMNED good graphics, coupled with the simplicity factor of RPGM1.

It isn't that I'm against being able to customize every little thing, but I don't want to have to deal with the background programming if I don't want to.

It's a tough call, but I'd have to say XP wins, solely because of its customizability.

if I didnt have either, I'd be more excited about 3.

I like 3 more than XP. maybe I'm wierd.

I'm more excited for XP, but I might end up making more games for 3 since in XP I'll want to do some of my own art and music, and that'll add on tons of development time since I'm not all together that good in drawing and music production.

While I am getting both, I am more excited about XP, so I can get back to making sprites and what not. With more colors and more freedom, I can finally make some decent sprites. Not sure if I will make a game in XP cause I don't know programming, but I will definitely try to make one with RPGM3

I'm new to this whole series, so 3 makes more sense. However, the day that XP is 3D I would switch in a heart beat. 2D doesn't cut it for me, especially on a PC.

RPG Maker 3, for me. I have been waiting for it the longest.

It's a hard choice. I love that in 2, with a lot or work and effort, you can pretty much make anything happen that you want. The biggest draw backs are the graphics and the limit on memory. With 3 the graphics are way better but it's a little more limited yet way easier to use. With XP the graphics aren't as good, even though I am a fan of 2D, but you can make a game as big as you want. The problem I see with XP is that since you can do whatever you want it won't be easy. Many people will have to learn all of its ins and outs like in 2. But like with 2 I fear many people will get furstrated and there won't be as many games.

I will probably get both, but I see myself enjoying 3 more. It seems that people like 1 more and made a hell of a lot of games with it. Since 3 is suppose to be more like 1 but better I think more people will like 3.

I've grown up on Super Nintendo RPG's so i'm used to 2-d. RPG Maker XP looks really compelling, but RPG Maker 3 is my choice because it's on a console and it's so simple and looks like fun long time.

RPGM3 all the way. Been wanting a 3D one of these for quite some time, and on top of it, it'll be easier to use.

                              Re: RPGM3 or RPGMXP?

I have had a hard time with both Xp and 3 (only 2 dimensions and camera limitations in XP and the whole dearth of limitations in 3) but I will be buying 3 first because I view the question differently.

It is not so much which game I think is better, it is that I would rather support Agetec than Enterbrain (Enterbrain is not sharing the marketing of XP with Agetec). While I realize that we could never have RPGMakers at all if not for Enterbrain, we would not have them in English if not for Agetec.

I plan on buying both eventually, but XP comes second for that reason alone.

RPGMaker 2 spoiled me. I know I'll get over it. Eventually. But I am not yet over it and probably wil not be over it until I have had both for a while and seen just what is possible.

                              But to answer your question...

                              3.

                              Peace.
