    Sega Genesis RPGs

Between Phantasy Star and Shining Force or anything else I don't know about, are there any good Genesis rpgs? I never had a Genesis when I was I kid so I never got to play any of those games. Any worth looking up?

Phantasy Star IV and Shining Force II are the shining examples of RPG awesomeness.

The others in these series are pretty good, but they don't hold up to PS4 and SF2.

Those were the only RPGs I had for Genesis, but I'm sure others will lead you to some that were good.

There's that one which is supposed to be released sometime by a Korean company. I forgot the name of the game, but there was a topic about it at the Ancient Pavilion Ruins.

              Re: Sega Genesis RPGs

Not all of the following are console RPGs, but they do share multiple RPG elements at least and will likely be of some interest. I found all of the following somewhat enjoyable or highly enjoyable:

              Beyond Oasis
Dungeons and Dragons: Warriors of the Eternal Sun
              Landstalker
              Phantasy Star IV
              Shadowrun
              Shining Force
              Shining Force II
              Shining in the Darkness

There are more RPGs or action RPGs on the Genesis, but many are mediocre or even quite horrid. Nevertheless, go to Gamefaqs.com, go under Genesis, look up their RPGs, and note the choices you have. Listed above are in my opinion games that you are likely to enjoy, while the rest may leave a very sour taste in your mouth. I have not tried every Genesis RPG either, mind you, but I have played most of them in existence that were released state side.

Crusaders of Centry or whatever it was called was fun. I don't think it counts as an RPG though.

                    Landstalker
                    Crusaders of Centy
                    Shining Force 2
                    Beyond Oasis
                    Shadowrun

Those are the only ones I've played that I liked.

Beyond Oasis is one of my favorites.

I reaaaaally liked Phantasy Star IV.

Phantasy Star III is pretty cool too.

                          It had to happen sometime.

Phantasy Star IV and Shining Force II usually go for pretty steep prices. I'm not sure I want to pay $40-50 for genesis games. Can someone compare these games to some SNES games in terms of overall rating?
