Darkness Storm (Temporary Title)

I want comments and suggestions about this game i'm gonna do with RPGMXP. While Taking a shower (body properly censored) Arich (it's a real boy name that means unknown.) (if you don't believe me, look it up at babynames.com!) overhears his dad talking to his brother (in the other room) about passing down his sword to him. Your brother wonders why he's not giving it to Arich and your dad says "Because he couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag. I'm kind of ashamed to call him my son.." so Arich decides to join the military to prove his father wrong. BUT right after your training something happens.. Sinister dark clouds appear over-head and the wind picks up. Then lightning starts falling from the sky! But it's no ordinary Storm. Everyone the lighting touches transforms into a demon! You are struck. But something happens.. Rather than going fully demon your body stops halfway. You become a Half-Lion-Demon. You can still think. But just barely. You WILL kill your friends and family. Unless the good breaks out and you remember they're not enemies. But your brother is...
This game WILL include a custom battle system and MIGHT contain voice-overs. The Battle System will be Action-Packed! Demons require life-support crystals. So in order to kill a demon you must attack the crytal (avoiding the demon.) And if you fight a human he will be military and you will attack his commanding officer. when you touch an enemy you will be hurt. you can open up a Battle menu, which will include.. Changing from Physical attacks to magic, (and vice-versa) Using Items and looking at status, Running away (when you choose this you must avoid damage for 1 minute.) and Party exchange. (once you get party you can take control of them.) and you fight by touching enemies. That pretty much sums up the battles. Oh! Each party member can only have 1 spell. But you can buy new ones at magic shops. I guess thats it.
Also, Under the light of the full moon is when you turn demon. Otherwise you're just you. And when you turn Demon you go on a playable rampage. Depending on how many innocent people you kill changes the outcome of the game. Will you be good? Or will you be Bad?

Like I said, Please leave Comments/Suggestions! NOTE: I've only thought of SOME of the story so fall.

Sounds good. Work with it some and it'll be great. I can see it already, flashing and seeing a slight picture of your mother before you kill her and him trying to stop himself (Arich). Do you plan to tell/show all the player this or start him off already as the half-demon and gradually show this to the player vaguely and have things make more sense as you go along? The later sounds like what I'd do.

you start out completely human. But just a little while into the game you turn half-demon.

I just have some questions about things that don't make sense to me. If answering them would give something away then don't tell us but at least let us know there is a sensible reason.

1. Why does Arich's body stop halfway through the transformation?
2. Why do the demons need the life support crystals and what are the crystals, where do they come from?
3. What's the connection between the full moon and the storm? You realize that means you can only become a demon one night a month (or three if you use the Buffy logic). It would make more sense if you turned demon anytime a storm started. It could happen at any moment and it ties in with the origin of the demons.
4. You fight by touching enemies but touching enemies damanges you. Does this mean that every time you attack you also get hurt a little?

1: Well, really, his body goes full demon but his spirit remains human. I can't tell you why (you find out late in the game) but there is a good reason.
2: When a Demon comes to life a crystal is attached to thier body. When they mature the crystal seperates. The crystal is kinda like a heart. But rather than pumping blood it transmits energy.
3: I'll use the storm idea. it's better than full moon.
4: No, You attack a demon's life support crystal. and avoid contact with the demon. And when fighting a human they will be military. And you attack thier commanding officer. Avoiding Contact with the grunt.

I didn't think of the crystals being detached parts of the demon's body. I like that idea. Now that you've cleared up those questions. Your idea sounds pretty cool. And you're thinking it out in detail which always makes for a better end product. When you get RMXP and start working on it I think the first thing you should do is throw together a quick sample of your CBS so people can give you feedback on it.

Running away (when you choose this you must avoid damage for 1 minute.)So it will always take at least a minute to run away? That's too long. Maybe 5-10 seconds would be better.

Well, black and white are the easiest, but kinda bland. I would suggest purhaps adding some sort of pattern or graphic on the shirt, make it multi colored. Then maybe leave his pants white.

When I look at the design it makes me think disco, and thats the main reason I think white pants will work, or some light colors will work, nothing that stands out. But the shirt I would go for bright colors.

But thats just how I would do it. You might have something different in mind for him.

Mystery: Mystery is a mysterious girl with a mysterious past. She's a little mean at times but deep down, she's quite nice.

Jack: Jack was a great war hero. But, when in the war he lost his Right arm and Left leg. He had them replaced with robotic limbs. Unfortunately, Someone got his ATM card and stole all his money. So his house was re-possesed and he was sent out on the street. It's been 10 years since that fateful day. His limbs have grown rusty but he's still alive.

Favio: Favio, (if that is his real name) is the 3-time champion of the Fighter's Day Tournament held every year in Capital City. He also has a fake accent. All the ladies love Favio.
