you know, at first i was pretty excited that there was a channel about video games. i only started watching it a few months ago when i lived where they had cable. back home now, i don't have cable, but if i did, i wouldn't even watch it anymore. why? because it sucks.

it caters to the masses who buy every new madden and halo type of games, best-sellers, etc. i mean, i can't blame them, because they're just tapping into their demographic and the american majority, but to me, it's near repulsive and it makes me wish for better days. now, it's not necessarily ALL bad.. there are more negatives than positives though.

I wish they never bought Tech TV. I loved Tech TV. I loathe G4.

the whip set? a block of programming dedicated to drift racing? on a VIDEO GAME CHANNEL? WTF?

the only thing worth watching on there is Icons, and occasionally filter, just for the rare appearance by Agetec's lovable Mark Johnson.

Tech TV was great. G4 has hosts that don't even know what the hell they are talking about, and are fascinated by every crap game out there.

the cinemtech program is decent enough. they had a speed run of zelda(nes) in the corner of the screen with other games being showcased in the background. that was fun.

some of their hosts such as the big, burly guy from that one gameshow where players play with their clanmates(not kkk) against other clans in person. Haven't watched in forever. ARENA, I think it's called. Anyways, that loud, burly guy who wore a hula-skirt at one point was from Battlebots where he spat out even more intense one-liners.

Mostly, I just hate the embarrassingly stupid and often senseless jokes all of the hosts make.

I found it hilarious that the show electric playground dedicated 8 whole minutes talk to the developers of Spyro: A Hero's Tale and hyping it up to be something really awesome.

They really don't do any research or game playing or anything. The least they could do is look in a game's instruction manual or something.

I mean, how do you mistake Bomb Man from Mega Man as... Bomber Man?

And can't they leave the comedy to........ other people?

I completely agree Manji.

Also, the only spew of G4 that's anything decent is Cinematech and Icons... why? The annoying hosts don't do most of the talking.

These hosts make it SO obvious that they're reading cards and haven't even laid a finger on the games they talk about...
