    RM3 and the 100 character/enemy cap

    Valk has asked me to pass this along to you all.

    The 100 character/enemy limit in RM3 - Totally separate. You can have 100 characters (NPC's included) and 100 monsters.

    You COULD get away with recycling generic NPC's in whatever other towns you want them in. Just give them different modes for wherever they appear.

    How do I know this? I've had the import for about 8 months now. However I'm at college now and I left it at home.

    No obstacle is insurmountable - sometimes you just have to hit it hard enough!

    Only a 100? Well, I have never used a 100 characters in a RPG maker game yet. But still.

      You can also name the shop/innkeepers in your towns, but I don't believe they count towards that. I'd dig out my game when I go home from college for the weekend, but by that time, Valk will have certainly spilled his guts.

          wait so you mean everything has a seperate 100 character limit. Thats much better than all of them having the same 100 character limit. And the way you make it sound you can make each town have a different limit too. So that is one hundred characters for each town. That is totally awsome. But I guess I may have mis understood.

            The outside parts of your towns can only have 10 people hanging around.

                can those 10 people be changed as the game progresses? like have 8 people out in say, Llamatown, and later when you return to Llamatown, there's 9 people there, and they're all people who werent there the first time?

                      Also, would it be possible to delete certain NPCs on the fly via a simple script? That would solve the problem entirely. Otherwise, would it be possible to just change them?

                        Hmm...a strict limit of only 10 villagers being outside in the town, huh? Well, will pay to mind not to make huge cities...they'd be too empty, heh.

                          you could still have huge cities with large populations. just make them devided in blocks, like a lot of people did in RPGM1. like an east side that is it's own map, a west side that's it's own map, stuff like thats.

                              Yet you could have like 20 buildings in said towns. When you think about older RPG's you didn't really see more than 10 people walking around in their towns.
