Quite bluntly, I'm all for a STRICT separation. Theocracy's now days aren't valuable. And politicians are using the bible as a tool. Okay I'm conservative, and I do believe in God. The difference between me and those religious zealots outside is I have compassion for people. For example the bible says that homosexuals were either born that way, or made so by man. "Made that way by man" doesn't mean someone forced them to be gay. I remember that the majority percentage of gays were left handed and the youngest of brothers in men. Coincidence?
But I don't want to debate about homosexuality. I want to talk about Church and State.
You know, Theocracy's lead to conflicting societal beliefs when we have such a diverse culture on religion. Mainly you have atheist and prodestant. But a government also bases laws and morals on these old scripts. So in the large view, you step in, but not all the way....
The best way I can think to describe it right now, is that the conflict is in the conflict...
