The Adventures of Sheriff Tom!

[Vanilla Iced Tea]

As you soon will discover, I'm no artist.
I just felt like putting together a little comic to blow some free time.
This is what I came up with.


This is Sheriff Tom. He protects and serves the Way Milky Galaxy. He has a horse named Edward. He goes on adventures. He is also deathly afraid of bug-bots.


This is Edward. He is a horse (and a robot). He goes on adventures with Sheriff Tom.

This is the first comic I made.

Not bad for someone who "isn't an artist." Well, you are one now, so congrats!

Interesting idea/execution. I love the first pic. The comic has a nice vibe to it and it's easy to follow. The white on black might hurt my eyes after a while, but maybe that's just me.

Heh, I guess you're right about the first part.

I like the first picture the most, too. Even with such simple drawings, I'm not so good at putting together action poses that comics require since I am completely inexperienced. I was just messin' around in Photoshop. I drew everything with a mouse in there, as I am without a scanner. I guess if people here like these, I'll post some more. I really only started making this for my own personal benefit. I think comic-making is a hoot.

It is, because you are in control of everything. It's your little world. If other people like it too, great. If not, no big deal, as long as it makes you happy.

As for poses and other elements, you just need to practice and try out new techniques.

I'd love to see more.

Well, with the positive feedback, I'll definitely put some more together. I'm sort of self-concious about drawing in front of other people, and the computer with Photoshop on it is in the middle of where everyone in my house hangs out. Yeah, I'm stupid, but whatever. I'll have to wait to work on it until later at night. I'm working on some scripts now. There should be a new one up here at least by Labor Day.

Might do some thumbnails of each page on paper before you start with photoshop. That way if you do have to draw in front of them, it won't take as long.

I know the feeling. It's taken me years to adjust to having other people around when I draw. Just try not to think about it as much as possible.

Oh, yeah.

I didn't want to make a post that just said that I don't have anything to post, but that is what I am doing. I can't get the strips to come out the way I want them to. I think I might have to try a new style. Sorry. I don't know when I'm going to have more up. But, I assure you, there will be more.

Just work at your own pace, don't rush it. If you're not getting paid for it, you can take all the time in the world~
