    Black Ribbon (New and IMPROVED!)

I made this game like, three years ago, but I went back and revised it last month. Hopefully, the game will be submitted to the site sometime soon, so in the meantime, read here and tell me what you like...if anything.

STORY: In the future, the world is in bad shape. The cities are not getting enough money and children are working at an early age. However, that is not the concern people have now; it's the Black Ribbon. The Black Ribbon is a magic spell that creates a Ribbon above the Earth that opens the gates of hell, causing demons to come to Earth. To chant this spell, you need the Sacred One. According to the myths, every 1500 years, a Sacred One is born and has the magic to create the Black Ribbon. Everyone in the world knows about that myth, especially the most dangerous people. The year is 3520, it's the time of year where the Sacred One is born and everyone who believes in that legend, is scared. The Sacred One is hidden, no one can find it or feel it. It is completely unsearchable. However, with the magic of the Holy Child, you can easily find the Sacred One. Because of the Black Ribbon spell, many people are after the Holy Child to find the Sacred One so they can kill it. Groups like SEG (Scared Execution Group), Magnum X and HASS(Holy And Scared Search), Zodiac, a group of demon worshippers who want the Black Ribbon. A beauitful witch named Aekia Celsus, is the only one that knows who REALLY is behind the Black Ribbon. Leon, is sent to protect the Sacred One for unknown reasons. With his ring, Issac. Leon must find the Sacred One to protect it from those who want it.

    Leon Saga
    Age: 20
Leon wishes he was a normal man with a normal life. Four years ago, Leon found a black ring. This ring is actually a ring you can use to summon a dark magician named Issac. Issac was summoned and commanded Leon to find the Scared One. The Sacred One is the one that can be used to summon the Black Ribbon. This will obviously kill many people. Leon's job is to find the Sacred One and protect it from people who want to kill it. Leon's a nice man. He's very curious and very strong. He uses his Issac Ring as a source of magic. Other then that, he uses no magic. He lacks usage of Techs as well.

    Cilia Woodman
    Age: 20
Cilia lives in a small ritual forest town. Her mother moved in with her and has been causing hell since. Cilia wants her mother to move out but she won't do it. Cilia can be snobby at times. She acts like a 5-year-old brat most of the time. She meets Leon after a argument she has with her mother. She asks Leon to take her to Crest City away from her mother.
Cilia can be nice and sweet, to boys anyway. When she saw Leon she helped him out instantly. Cilia's quest to get away from her mother turns out be more serious as it continues...

    Aekia Celses
    Age: 22
Aekia is a witch that lives in a shrine in Crest City. She is “best friends” with Quilia. She knows the truth about the Sacred One and the Holy Child. Aekia predicts the future and what happens. She is a beautiful 22-year-old woman with blue hair and a white robe. She saw the Black Ribbon and what will happen to the world. She wants to do everything in her power to prevent the Black Ribbon. She joins Leon and Cilia to stop the Black Ribbon.

    Quilia Wymono
    Age: 19
Quilia-lives in Crest City which is like a giant slum. She is best friends with Aekia. Aekia predicted that Quilia will be raising a child. Quilia got really excited, but, the child she will be raising is the Holy Child. Quilia didn't understand what the Holy Child is, her love for children keeps her excited anyway. On her way to the store she meets a kid named Alen. Who, has had a bad past.
Quilia is nice and innocent girl. She likes helping people and wants to do good deeds. She can't stand to sit at home with nothing to do and no one to help. Unfortunately, Quilia isn't very smart. She always acts before thinking.

    Alen Gemin
    Age: 8
Alen is a kid that lived a really bad life. He's been absused often throughout his life. He hasn't been loved and cared for like most 8 year-olds are. Alen was tought things that most people don't learn at 8 years old, making him very smart for his age. Alen is shy and doesn't talk much. He has powers that mages use.

    Eliza Rolonae
    Age: 28
Eliza is the boss of a group called Magnum X. She is famous for spying on her enemies and getting as much information as she can get. Eliza is a tough and smart woman while she's working. But outside her job she's a nice, funny and caring. She loves to joke around just as much as she likes to get her work done. However, there are many things about Eliza that people don't know, not even her partners. Eliza loves to arm wrestle.

    Ira Ishigami
    Age: 19
Ira is the youngest member of Magnum X in terms of membership. He thinks Eliza is cool and wants to use the same Techs that she uses. Ira is very careless. He acts very brashly. He loves to fight battles. That's the best part of the job, according to him. Ira joined Magnum X because he's trying to beat someone in something. But who?

    Rei Yanami
    Age: 17
Rei is the only mage in Magnum X. She was the only one in her family born with the gift of magic. She is the youngest one in the Magnum X group, but, she's one of the oldest members, membership wise. Rei came from a very poor household. She joined Magnum X to get enough money to take care of her parents. Rei is a caring girl. She cares for everyone and tries to help them out any way she can.

    Britis Zackard
    Age: 33
Britis lived a long life of crime. He's been in many jails for most of his life. Britis is the number one man to be executed in many areas around the world. Britis was kidnapped from Jail and put in a tube in Crest Factory. Eliza, Ira and Rei help him escape. Britis is a tough man, who is very strong. Nothing can hurt him. To be in so many jails, Britis does not act like a criminal. He is helpful. Britis is trying to atone for his sins.

    Mooble Vella
    Age: 23
Mooble is a gremlin that looks terribly young for his age. He's been working for the SEG for five years now. Mooble is a master at traps. He isn't a fan for killing, so he traps his enemies, which is way he is a key member. Mooble is a funny person and is enjoyable. He likes to have fun and be serious when both are needed. Because of his somewhat lying and conniving nature, people find it hard to trust him.

    Vengstin Takal
    Age: 25
Vengstin is a traveler that travels for answers to his questions. He used to own a manison long ago, but it was destroyed. Since then Vengstin has been searching the world for the one who destroyed his mansion and the people in it. Vengstin can be very cold at times. He doesn't really care about other people or what they have to think. Vengstin never explain his motives to anyone, and if he does, he'll kill them. Being a traveler, he knows a lot about the world and it will prove useful
    to the group.

    Shar Astey
    Age: 30
Shar works for SEG as well as a "Rough Guard". Shar is very strong and people are afraid to talk to him, thinking that he'll hurt them. Shar is very mean towards "weak" men, which to him, is everyone. In other words, he's ****y. Shar has a family who he protects and visits often. He's more like a family guy. However, Shar is very nice and caring towards woman. Shar joins the group to find Eliza, his crush.

    Fakle Coreshemo
    Age: 21
Fakle is a man born with strange ears. He has been picked on because of that as a kid. When Fakle grew up he left his family to go on a long journey. Fakle doesn't like all the choas over the Sacred One and wants to stop it. He left his town with his best friend Sierra. On one tragic day, Sierra and Fakle were on their way to Miltod when Britis shot her from above. Fakle was completely divested and since developed pure hatred for Britis. Fakle wishes to kill Britis for killing Sierra someday.

    Pili
    Age: 5
Pili is Resal's pet and guardain. He is a talking cat. Really, Resal's cat is just a vessal for the spirit inside, Evagrasp. Pili is very wise and always thinks before acting. He constantly nags Resal to do the same. Pili thinks the Sacred One will never be found and they'll die by the Black Ribbon. Pili is always a negetive thinker. He knows who truly is behind all of the chaos, and who wants the Black Ribbon. Pili keeps it away from everyone for their own safety.

    Resal Crestent
    Age: 8 1/2
Resal used to be a normal kid, until Evagrasp came along and gave him magic. Resal loves his new power. Resal's obsession to becoming an adult annoys the others. Resal consider himself an adult and thinks he can kill everyone with his spells. He is very bossy and persuasive. He can completely change someone's personality with what he says. His main reason for traveling is to learn how adults act. He looks at Alen and thinks he's little kid and needs to grow up. What Resal really wants, however, is simply a best friend.

Yes, I'm sure some people have heard of this game before.

I was playing it just last Saturday...but then I realized that this game was too hard. So, that must've meant that the Black Ribbon I was playing was not the updated version. I'll give it a try pretty soon.

If you want me to give you some feedback, just let me know and I'll try to write something up (because I really don't think I'm that great at writing ).

This is on my list of "Top 5 RPGM Games to Play". In it are yours, Spiteful Dead...um... Okay, I lied. I only have two on mind. And who knows when I'll actually play it. It's been quite a while since I've downloaded any RPGM(any number) games. Maybe now that I'll be getting a computer of my own, and my copy of RPGM1 currently is getting no more use, I'll try it out. If RMXP and RPGM3 don't get too much of my attention, that is.

Which one were you playing? The one on the site(NEW AND IMPROVED), or an older version? Are you reading the guide(it's mostly spoiler free)? Which part are you on? I can help you out.

Re: Black Ribbon (New and IMPROVED!)

Alright, I am for SURE that I had played the right version or my computer was just being super retarded and didn't overwrite the previous Black Ribbon files. Yeaster, I'm so sorry to say this, but I still had a hard time in the begining as I had before. Here are some stuffs I should bring out:

Trents were too powerful!- They did too much damage seeing how I was level 1, had only 1 party member, and did not have very many potions. It was so evil because they did like 7 damage per hit. That shouldn't be. Especially when I have 1 party member and only 3 potions when there are 3 of these horrible creatures on the field. I had to get through that battle by luck!

Lake path=evil- This was the same part I also had when playing this game before. I had a party of 3 (can't quite remeber their names though ) and whenever I would get into battle, I would have to fight these extremely tough enemies. I could've sworn that these enemies did at least 20 damage per hit to my guys and seeing how most of my guys could only do about 2 damage to the enemies with their regular physical attacks, that's evil. To put more on top of that, my guys could only use their special attacks or "Techs" (as you've called them). So, I pratically HAD to use my HP. That's PURE evil!

              ????

Is that all of them? Hm...

Anyway, if you can prove me wrong, please do. Then I'll know it was my computer's fault for not overwritting the last Black Ribbon files. If you did leave the begining like this, then I suggest (and hope) you re-improve it. I'd like to actually play this game with not having so much difficulty at the begining of the game.

You can kill them in one blast with your Issac Ring. They are Holy, and you are Evil. Holy is weak against Evil.

(The order is: Holy weak against Evil, strong against Moon, Moon weak against Holy, strong against Evil, Evil weak against Moon, strong against Holy)

Lake path=evil- This was the same part I also had when playing this game before. Yes, with Eliza, Ira, and Rei. That place isn't that difficult, actually. The goal is to level up like, two or three times around the saving point, so that way, you can go back and heal after every battle. Seeing as how you get boatloads of experience points there, it won't take long(less then ten minutes, actually).

Anyway, if you can prove me wrong, please do. Then I'll know it was my computer's fault for not overwritting the last Black Ribbon files. Well, to be sure, make sure you downloaded the version on the site. Black Ribbon is a fairly easy game if you fight with a proper strategy, think Shin Megami Tensei/Persona style...only, less cheap, at times. If you need anymore help, feel free to ask, or, read the guide. It's really helpful in terms of strategies and how to defeat regular enemies(by listing their elements, so you can know exactly what to use on them).

These enemies are so easy after you gain a couple levels going through the dungeons. This isn't the kind of game where you can blindingly go into battle and do the same thing over and over and over again. You have to plan. Of course it's not this complex all the time. The battles can be short and simple with proper strategies.

Ah, well, thanks for the tips.

I haven't deleted those files, so I may just try it again.

Eh, I didn't like that I had to stay at the start of the lake to gain a couple levels before I could finally proceed. It seemed unbalanced that way, especially since by the time I reached the end of the level, those guys were almost pushovers, until I reached the next dungeon and my butt was getting whooped again. I dunno, maybe I'm just used to having a consistent difficulty level.

Yeah, I guess. It's been toned down a bit, so it's not as hard as it used to be...thank God. Besides, that's only the beginning. It gets so much better post-Factory.

I'm sorry, I really don't have the time for this. I've got to work on my game, play some games on the PS2, and work on homework. Since homework is my top priority, I barely have the time to catch up on playing my PS2 games and the time to work on my game. So I'm really busy. I hope you understand.
