    Character models...

I know I'm asking questions that a lot of people probably can't answer, just psyched about the game.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not you could make monster models as a character model. In other words, if you wanted non-human characters, like a bat-like creature, as a potential character? What I mean is, if there aren't any bat-like models for characters, but there is a monster model, can you transfer it to the character model section? I don't even know if the game works like this, or not.

Has anyone maybe seen screenshots of odd characters? I've found a bird man so far...

In past games, have there been a lot of odd choices for non-traditional races for characters? I don't want to be stuck with just humans, elves, dwarves. I mean, I may use them, but I want to go in a different direction for the main character and the characters that you will come across.

Also, can you make your own models, and transfer them to RPGM3?

I am as psyched as you are and can't blame you for asking questions. When I ask questions, everyone gives me a lame answer like, "I don't know, just wait."

As for the monster character models, i'm not sure. I've seen a picture with a treeman (int) runing around. In RPGM 1 there were some different than cliche characters like a dog, cat, chicken, a shadow person, a monkey, a horse, a dragon, a goblin, and a few others that I cannot remember. I also remember when I played RPGM 2 for like 3 hours before I got frustrated and sold it at EB Games, there were a lot of monster character models, so I can expect RPG Maker 3 to have a few too.

Sounds good! If they don't have what I want I can always use the closest thing to it, or just change the character.

I know that you can use character models as enemies but I don't think you can use monster models as characters. Like the previous RPG Makers, there will probably be several animals and monsters that are character models in RPG Maker 3.

Iff the top of my head I can recall seeing a birdman, treeman, and lizardfolk. I'm hoping there's going to be a winged woman (Even a succubus type character would probably serve my purposes well enough).

If I recall, RPGM1 had something like 15 or 16 non-human sprites. Unfortunately, you couldn't easily base a whole race on those sprites, as there was only one of each type with four color variations, while humans have like over 50 with different styles. RPGM2 had a pretty limited amount as well, though coloring was so customizable that you could easily base entire races on a few of the models. RPGM3 unfortunately goes back to having only 4 colors per model. And there's once more a limited amount of monster-like models outside of battle.

That is if you dont have any skills with the anime maker (which I didn't)

But with RPG Maker 3, yes we are back with the 4 different colors, but i've heard in a number of reviews that there are many different choices for characters. You have more to choose from it seems.

Sounds like they're including human choices.
