If you are subscribed to Shonen Jump you either received the new issue today (like me) or will get it soon enough. Anyway, inside is a demo of Grand Battle for the PS2 (only in the Subscription ones, so if you buy it at the newstands your outta luck)
Here are my impressions:
If you think of it like Smash Bros. you will have a fair idea of the mechanics, except that the arenas are fully 3D and you can wander as you like. The demo has 4 characters (Luffy, Zolo, Nami, and Arlong) available to try, and you can fight in 2 different arenas.
The game's a button masher, frankly. Blocking is kinda effective, but you really dont need to bother. The character animations are pretty good (Luffy can stretch various lengths depending on how long you hold the attack) and the graphics are nice and cartoony.
If you are a fan of the manga/anime you might wanna check it out. Those that dont really know anything about it probably shouldnt bother, but if you like Arena games (like SSBM) then its probably worth a rental at least.
