    A simple item idea...

Does it **** you off how characters have an EXTREMELY limited number of items they can hold? Well, here's a little gimmick to make things easier..

Now, say you have various items like Potion, Antidote, Ether, etc. For each item, make a duplicate, increase the number of uses to Ten Times the original amount, increase the cost to Ten Times that amount, and put the word "Pack" in front of the item name (Potion Pack, Antidote Pack, Ether Pack, etc.) Lastly, have those items available to purchase alongside the regular items in various shops.

Depending on how your game works, the normal items will be the better option early on due to the party's low levels of Gold and less need for the items. And later on, when the dififculty rises and the party becomes much richer, the Pack items will be the way to go.

    That's right!

Not only that, but eventually you can sell a very expensive item that has unlimited uses if you want to.

This has been done a few times and all, but it's still a good idea to remind people that it can be done. It'll definitely endorse the making of better games, I think.

It's a cool technique, and like Obi said there are a few people who have already made good use of it. Just be aware of two things:

      1) Unless I'm mistaken, there's no way to see how many uses you have left of a given instance of an item.

      2) You can still sell an item for its full sell value even if theres only one use left.

On XP/VX you can simply set up a script on an item's use to give you the next iteration of the item (so using a Pizza could give you a 7/8 Pizza after use, which could give you a 6/8 Pizza after use), but ironically I don't think there's any inventory restrictions in XP/VX anyway.

How Badly Do You Want It? (VX Ace) is now available for download! - no outside software necessary.

Actually wave if you look up your items menu and hold triangle you can see how much uses you can have in a specific item.
