this is the perfect mmo for me. lots of solo content, companions that are actually helpful. pvp is a good time and the dialog stuff makes me feel like im actually playing a game and not just going through the motions.
also i did a flashpoint last night with my brother that you would normally need 4 people for, but with me playing a tank roll, and him a healer roll along with our 2 companions, we aced it.
the crafting is also the best in any game ever lol, but that is personal preference
I was in the beta, this game is EXACTLY like wow (or any other generic MMO), except with lengthy dialogue...it slows the game down so much it is irritating.
when you say this is exactly like WoW, you obviously mean in the same way that GW2 is exactly like WoW: ie. it has quests and buttons you press?
Lol nice try, but no. It is the same as wow as in the game handles the exact same. It feels THE EXACT same. It literally felt like a reskinned wow with great voice acting. I was in quite a few beta phases, and the dialogue was interesting at first but after a few hours it just became annoying. Again not the MMO for me.
And if you think GW2 plays the same as WoW or SToR then you need to watch some videos. Combat is finally done right.
Star Wars isn't bad, but in my opinion it is too late to the MMO genre. A lot of MMOs coming out now are going for a more action/active style combat rather than the click and watch method of WoW and Star Wars. If it had came out a few years ago I wouldn't be typing this post.
well, im not going to get into an argument on opinions, but i am going to say that i disagree with what you say about SWTOR. I think it brings just the right amount of change to the mmo formula to be successful for a wide range of audience. the quest are more involving, and bring you to have a better relationship with your avatar.
The crafting is unobtrusive which is great for me, as someone who hates sitting and grinding points and gathering mats for hours and hours instead of actually playing the game. they have done a lot to take the grindy timesink feel away from alot of the aspects of MMO that i dont like.
The companions make for good storyline as well as excellent AI when 2 maning a 4 man instance with 2 players and 2 companions.
the worlds are flushed out, with tons of story elements to push everything forward.
but i will say this: if you are not a fan of star wars and just want to keep clicking accept, accept, accept at quest givers and mindlessly run around until you reach level cap- this game might not be for you.
I'm super stoked for this game and I have it pre-ordered. But I'll wait a minute to play it. I've played a couple mmo's at launch and it's always left a bad impression. They almost always never launch well.
