Did anyone else get it or did everyone just get Nintendogs? I got it and it kicks ass. The stylus control is real nice and the new characters are cool.

Re: Advance Wars Dual Strike
What do mean by bigger deal? Sales wise? Better game? It's not going to sell as much as Kirby either in Japan or the US. The Wars series just isn't as big as Kirby. If you mean if it's a better game than Kirby then that depends on your personal taste. I know I'll probably like it better than Kirby. I love AW and was definitely anticipating this game much more than Kirby.Originally posted by RPGProgrammerI read someplace that it's arguably an even bigger DS deal than Kirby. Is this true by any stretch of the imagination? Either way, how does it stack up against the previous Advance Wars games?
Comparing it to the other 2 AW games, it plays faster, looks a bit better, sounds better, and has better dialogue. The top screen can always display the unit info so you don't have to go into another screen to check it and now you can skip all the animations without having to turn them off so you can watch them sometimes or whatever. The top screen can also display what's going on in the sky. Like say there's a nuclear warhead heading your way.
The graphics have a lot of mode 7 style effects going on which look pretty nice, but other than that the graphics are pretty much the same. They totally redid the art for all the characters too. Which is nice. It looks better than it did in AW2. The sound has improved quite a bit and the dialogue just sounds a lot hipper. Or that might just be the new CO, Jake.

Re: Advance Wars Dual Strike
Ah, this game is making me want to buy a DS. But I'll wait, the price will be dropping soon.
There's this, Kirby, Meteos, and maybe Super Mario 64 DS.
Oh, and I hear Jake is annoying as hell. Serving up hot bowls of smackdown soup, or whatever.Last edited by Toaster; 08-24-2005, 03:39 PM.
