Save Error?

I was saving one of my games and it said "Save failed". My data wasn't on the file list anymore and it turned in to corrupt data on my memory card. Anyone know what caused this?

The wonders of the PS2 memory card. If it was 3rd party (aka not from Sony) that may be the reason right there.

Best suggestion is to always have multiple saves, just in case.
