Well, only 27 days left for those of us trying to finish up our game for this contest. I know some of you may have finished your game already, and some of you may be submitting games from the past, but I'm sure many of us are cramming to get it done on time. It's so strange, becuase all of a sudden, all of these silly things keep pulling me away from my game constantly ( family gatherings, work, etc.) just when i need to focus the most.

Just wanted to know how all of you in the same boat are doing? Anyone afraid of not being able to finish it on time? Anyone stuck on a part they just cant get perfect?

Im trying to play test my game alot. I REALLY want it to be bug free. however i keep running into the dellema of that my standards keep rising. I'll test a part of the game, fix somthing, be satisfied with that part one day and then play it another day and find that i want it better. OVER and OVER I do this. great. I'd like it to be perfect, But I've been working on Esper Quest for 3 YEARS! I cant wait to be done. i feel a bit obsessed about it.

anyone else have this problem?

I would've had something done by now. I had the CBS almost finished back in June. But then I decided that the CBS wouldn't have worked that well with such a long game, but I wanted to still use the CBS. So, I tried thinking up a shorter game to use the CBS. For two months. I came up with one idea, but I've been uncertain of it. Now I have 20 days to work on this (allowing for a week of testing), except I have pretty much nothing beyond the CBS that I still have to tweak. Doesn't help that RPGM1's replacement is coming in that amount of time.

I am in the exact same boat. I constantly turn on my PS2, but ditch it for bout 6 hours, then actually spend about 2 hours working on it, then ditch it again, work on it for another 30 mins, then go to sleep. I have the stuff planned out, I just cant find on how to do it perfectly. My game calls for 7 dungeons, I just finished number 2. I think I may have to sit this contest out. :|

I must've watched each of my cutscenes 1,000 times! Arg. I never planned on entering this contest though, but I'm like that too.

Well, Monkey Brothers won't be submitted. That's for sure. It's quite sad since this was my goal for the year. Looks like Monkey Brothers will have to be delayed.

What now? Eh, I think I'll be submitting Patrick's Journey. I wanted to fix up my dungeons a little bit so that they aren't evil, but I have no way of uploading the game onto my computer if I did that. Yeah, I think I'll give it a go with Patrick's Journey even though it was made for myself.

Keep up the good work guys, you can do it!

Okay, how many hours do you think you need to finish your game?
Now we both know that whatever you said its probably that many hours times 3. THERE ARE ONLY 558 HOURS IN REAL LIFE before sept 18th at 11:30 pm. Good luck!!!!

505 hours left....my clock counter reads 428 hours (total time working on the game which obviously doesn't count GAME mode playtesting) and I think I can complete it at about 500......so that means I have to find about 75 free hours in the next 500 real time hours....hmm....

15 days left for me (gotta allow testing). Don't think I'll be able to release anything using the CBS. Maybe I can come up with something that still uses the CWM. Not likely. Oh well, at least the CBS will be able to undergo some improvements on RPGM-whatever.

to be honest, the contest may end up getting pushed back. as is, I dont have any way to download games and play them (read my computer topic in free forum). It might get pushed back another month, although I want to avoid that if possible.

OMG Valk, I am really sorry about your computer. I'm sure that makes life even more stressfull.

I certainly dont mean to be insensitive, but would you please let us know as soon as possible about the new deadline, I've been really re-arranging my schedule so that can finish the game...I'm sure more time just means a better game anyway...thank you for all of your work and good luck.

I'm deciding what kind of game to enter into contest #3, either one I have been working on the most(but will take the most time to finish) or one that won't take very long to finish, but overall won't be as good as the former project. If I am going to enter something though, I'd have to do some major crunching.

*Races to get game finished*

Luckily, since it is Survival Horror, it will naturally be much shorter than an RPG. With the battle system worked out, I think I will be able to create more than half the game in that amount of time, finishing it by then. :D

Looks like I will be able to finish Esper Quest... Probably finish at about 520 hours,(clocked time) im at 460. Major chucks of the game are mostly done, now its just cleaning up lots of little details...

I'll probably make a few changes to Jester's Hunt. Nothing that'll make it worth playing through again (unless you wanted it to be an excuse to), just fix a few bugs and a repeated (12 times) typo. It was a copied event. And I'll want to get rid of a few annoying things.

*Gets his butt on seat and works on Patrick's Journey. Neglecting: homework, eating, sleeping, Monkey Brothers, and anything else that's not necessary to complete the better version of Patrick's Journey.*

I won't be able to finish. I just bought a new memory card. Been broke for a while, but I'll be starting the second chapter now. I can finish that by the dead line so as you can see I'm out.
