    Insomnia

I'm up again now, after two hours of laying in bed. I have school today and I'm not sure how I'm going to pull off functioning properly. Last night I got roughly 5 hours of sleep, so I expected that I would be tired by at least 12am tonight. I fixed something to eat but the calories probably only ended up keeping me up more.

Drinking milk usually helps me get to sleep, but I'm not willing to use benedryl, nyquil, or anything else as a sleep aid. I end up waking up feeling even worse, when I do.

This sucks. What helps you all get to sleep? Do any of you guys have tips?

    Masturbation.

    And that's a serious answer.

        It helps.

I don't really have any solutions.

I usually just lay around in bed for hours.

I think Caciss pretty much summed up the best sleep aid. Not only is it a release of excess energy, but it takes your mind off of whatever is keeping it going.

Other than that, try to avoid eating and doing intellectual stuff before bedtime. If you're like me, you probably go on the net, then spend the rest of the night thinking about stuff related to what you saw, which keeps you up the rest of the night. Above all else, if you have to go online right before bed, avoid reading anything Toecutter would post here. No offense to TC, but it's usually the kind of stuff that gets overactive minds racing, which is the last thing you need. If you need some late night viewing, I recommend something completely mindless, like Beavis and Butthead, or Aquateen Hunger Force (ATHF is probably a pretty good option because the episodes are so short, and the brain drain lasts so long ).

I take 'simply sleep' or a decongestive (two birds with one stone). Also, I try to avoid caffiene at least 8 hours before I crash out.

If I can't sleep, I just drink Bawls.

                Then I don't have to.

You know I've pretty much managed to cut out caffine from my life. It'll probably creep back in now that school's back and I'll be eating on campus, but I don't really miss it.

A Dr Pepper from the can sure does taste good though.

Caffeine is a major part of my everday life, it can usually make up for sleep if I'm trying to be awake, but functioning properly really can't be replaced by anything.

I agree with you though, Dr. Pepper is good. Especially at my local Chipotle, the syrup always runs a little rich in it. Diabetes never tasted better

Alcohol(some cheap wine like Night Train) + wank does wonders. If you really need the triple punch, Alcohol + Benadryl + Wank.

If that doesn't do it, try holding your breath for about 3 minutes straight while pinching your nose tight and trying to breath out it so hard you can feel air coming out of the corners of your eyes. That is dangerous, but does the trick in extreme circumstances.

Nothing like not being able to get to sleep for 4+ days in a row. Use those things in moderation so as not to become reliant upon them.

                              Re: Insomnia

I used to have a terrible sleep disorder. I would go to sleep and wake up every couple hours, never really getting a full night's sleep. As a child I thought this was natural and how everyone slept. I discovered it was different when I was young and slept at a friend's house. I was surprised that he "slept the whole night" and that led to the discovery of my problem.

What worked for me is not likely to work for many people, but it worked.

I discovered I have a naturally bizarre sleep cycle. If I go to bed ridiculously early (7 to 8 PM) and get up ridiculously early (2 to 4 AM) I can sleep the whole night and still get in 6 to 8 hours sleep time.

I had to give up most of my social life, but I don't miss it.

If that is just too much for you, I understand. Try watching Doctor Who. That always puts me to sleep (don't get me wrong... I love Doctor Who, it's just that I know them all so well that I can close my eyes and listen to it like a radio show).

                              Sleep is good.

                              Peace.

                              MOO!
