Anyone who knows a lot about Kevin Smith knows that he was a big fan of 'Degrassi: Junior High,' and 'Degrassi: High School' when it was airing back in the late '80s, early '90s. He's taken his love of Degrassi to a new level by getting himself in an episode of 'The Next Generation' series of Degrassi playing on The-N, a trendy Nickelodeon spinoff channel.
He's managed to place his trademark characters, Jay & Silent Bob, into a special miniseries of Degrassi called 'Degrassi: Jay & Silent Bob Do Degrassi' in which they're supposedly filming the new movie 'Jay & Silent Bob go to Canada, eh?' (or something) that Kevin Smith is working on. He's not actually making this film, says iMDB, but they are releasing a special DVD in November from these episodes.
The second episode of this saga (to be epic-sounding) aired last night and tonight, though I missed it every time it aired.
Suffice it to say, I have a love/hate relationship with myself over my infatuation with Degrassi, and I don't care how many times Kevin Smith says he's retiring Jay & Silent Bob as characters, they're just too good to be left in a vault somewhere. So this has me pumped.
Now, please tell me someone else watches Degrassi, or at least watched Junior High/High School back in the day. I don't want to be the only nerd!
