That One Metropolis With The Justice-Type Super-Peoples

Ever since I decided to take my maiden voyage over the vast ocean of online PC gaming via PSU (and online gaming, for that matter), I've been having a number of second thoughts. Now, I no longer intend to get the PC version of PSU, rather I shall pick up the console version instead.

I felt that more of an entry-level online game would be in order for my first foray. Something that dosen't require a huge chunk of devotion, yet is creative enough to keep me enthrailed. Also, I wanted some experience in the field before getting into Sega's current "trump card" franchise.

The game in question is City of Heroes. I finally picked it up. Haven't installed it on this laptop yet, though. I may do so sometime in the future -- When I build Kwagwarroughurh Hatz Mark 1 at the very latest.

Anyone care to share any CoH stories or info and somesuch? I'm-a gonna make a RingMan!

It's really a great game, I'm going to resubscribe in a month or so when city of villians hits.

      Pros:

      - Character creation is fun. Possibly more fun than the game itself.
      - The interface is one of the better design aspects the game has to offer.
      - Leveling up and gaining abilities is so simple my 4 year old brother could do it.
      - It has the best system for partying up I've ever seen in any MMORPG.
      - Combat is simple and intuitive.
      - Level gaining is not an arduously long and involving task.
      - Graphics are nice.

      Cons:

      - Graphics are nicely repetitive.
      - Missions are repetetive.
      - Combat gets boring.
      - Gaining abilities is slow. EX. You can get a flight ability at level 10 or so (I think), and you'll be able to fly, but you'll fly at a rate of 2 mph. Slower than walking. Want to fly far and fast? Gain 10 more levels and see how much faster you can go (which isn't much. You can only go "SUPER" speeds by around level 30 and 40.
      - Saving the old man accross the street who's being mugged by a gang of thugs loses it's point, since it's an entire ****ing CITY of heroes. Someone else'll do it.

Like so many other MMO's, the game is only truly fun if you can survive those trying times gaining 30 levels. I gave up on it after my first 60 day trial period because it was so boring.
      ...and that's why.

I plan to get a really good computer almost exclusively for the purpose of playing CoH. Okay also to play Sims 2 and download some TV shows. But mostly CoH. Of all MMO's it's the one I'm most interested in playing. Mostly because of 1Up.com's Game diary about it: Memoirs of an Urban Vigilante. It makes the game sound so cool, and shows off some funny character builds.
I want that Mulan McNugget sauce, Morty!

I feel like City of Villians will solve a lot of the boredom issues the game has.

I'm think I may pick both up, since my computer isn't capable of WoW.
