Are these the same guys that way back when, set two clocks at the exact same time and chucked one into a rocket to fly around the earth in orbit for a while, and brought it down to find that the times ended up being different?

I wasn't aware there was any doubt as to the validity of the General Theory of Relativity.

The only thing interesting about this article is hearing that the GTR spoke of space-time vortexes, and a friend of mine theorized the possibility of such things several years ago. I'll have to tell him he was right! The experiment itself seems... wasteful.

Not really. Relativity has enough supporting evidence to not be questioned in most cases, the only reason it isn't a law is due to the nature of Physics right now, and because a Law typically entails explaining a single phenomenon; Relativity is entangled with several.

The entire experiment was propped up by Universities, I look forward to the actual paper in Nature.
