Your most embarrassing non-achievement in gaming

[Perversion]

I'm not talking about achievements as in XBL achievements, either. Here are mine:

-Never having finished the first Portal, even though I would place it in a list of my 20 favorite games. I got stuck on the next to last puzzle, and didn't want to resort to a walkthrough to get past it.

-Never having finished the first Ogre Battle, even though I would place it in a list of my top five games. Found a cheat in Nintendo Power or something to unlock a one-off bonus level, and accidentally saved over my main file that easily had 60-70 hours on it, if not more. After that, I lost the will to start over again.

-Only having beaten Demon's Souls once, and not having beaten at least one NG+.

-Never having beaten FFTA, even after having spent easily 120 hours, if not more with it. It was stolen, I rebought it, and got maybe 45 or so hours in before I gave up.

-Never having made it past the third stratum in any of the EO games.

About the worst things I can remember off the top of my head are:

• Taking damage from Toad Man in Mega Man 4
• Taking damage from Plant Man in Mega Man 6

I think I mentioned those a few times before.


EDIT: Ooh, and this:

• Meeting Mewtwo in Pokemon Blue and being so scared that I ran away and saved immediately afterward, guaranteeing I'd never see it again.

Losing my starter in Pokemon Fire Red and choosing a Dugtrio to replace it, and not watching my strongest weapon's life points in Dark Cloud without an Auto Repair Powder equipped.

In Dragon Age: Origins I missed my chance to have Liliana and Sten join my group (Missed exploring a couple locations in Lothering, then the place was destroyed by Darkspawn), and then I killed Wynn.

I later quit playing somewhere in the Deeproads to play Parasite Eve 1&2, where I let Flint (the dog in the second one) die, and got the crappy ending.

I'm considering selling my consoles for a simple life of Solitare and Mah Jong, though I think I'd still embarrass myself. Damn you 12% win rate!

Had to use cheats to beat Earthworm Jim.

Used a slow-mo feature on a controller to beat Vader in Super Empire Strikes Back.

Max out my characters with a gameshark and still couldn't beat all the weapons that appeared at the end of FF7.

And my greatest shame; Never beat God in Dragon Warrior 7. Yes, I am living a lie. That's where my username godkiller was inspired from, as well as the name of my RPGM3 game. The shame.

I have never beaten the first Super Mario Brothers. Or SMB 3, for that matter, although I consider it one of my favorite platformers.

-I sunk over 80hrs into Valkyrie Profile 2 and never finished it. The last thing I remember is crossing the rainbow bridge. I tried to pick it up later and I'd completely forgotten how the mechanics worked.

-Valkyria Chronicles 2: I got about halfway through before a combo of hardware problems and extremely long fights knocked me out.

-I'm not really embarassed, but I do regret not getting a platinum in Demon's Souls, only because I wasn't willing to farm the Pure Bladestone and build my only missing weapon.

Resonance of Fate: I was at least 3/4ths of the way to the end before I hit a wall.

Etrian Odyssey III: Not done yet, but I feel it coming...3rd Stratum weapon/armor prices are the sole barrier to my progression.

There's other embarrasing non-achievements I've had, but none of them will top that.

Never finishing making The Clean Underwear Quest for RPGM2 because I overwrote the wrong file and lost a ton af great stuff.

My single most embarrassing moment in gaming would have to be actually playing through Edward's Quest on RPG Maker. Its 15 hours of my life I want back.

You have to mentally handicapped to not be able to solve a puzzle in Portal 1 or 2.

I guess mine might be be never beating Super Metroid. I got really far but couldn't play for a week or more and when I got back to it I had no idea where to go or what I was supposed to be doing.
