So, I finally got around to playing Silent Hill 2. Since, I'm like the last person in existance who hasn't played it. I'm hardly into the game, and I'm already all jittery.

I get so scared, so easily.

Ah, yes. The only game that gives me the creeps more than SH is Fatal Frame.

What you are embarking on is the single greatest SH to date. Creepy environments, an excellent story, and the hint of a slasher-flick feel of this gem (Just a hint, that goes a long way) help it surpass all of the others.

Second best for me is #4, though. I just seem to enjoy the "side stories" better than the main storyline set up by the first and third. Maybe because they seem to depart from the typical survival horror story. Usually urvival horror involves trying to escape the danger, but in SH2, all of the characters are actually drawn ever closer to the heart of the dangerous town, unwavering in their desire to go ever deeper into its depths.

SH 1 = SH 2 > SH 3 > SH4

This is my opinion. I've played all of the games many many times and gotten all the possible endings for each one.

I love SH3, but the "story" and "characters" are very weak. I love 1&2 the most. I like aspects of 4, but overall they rushed it and you can tell. Great graphics, though, always good music. I'll post more later.

Ive played 1,2, and 3 and i have to say that 2 is the best one of them all without even looking very much at 4. SH2 starts out creepy but just keeps outdoing itself over and over again till the end. If you think where you are at now seems wierd wait till you get a bit further.

I think that SH2 trumps SH1 because the PS2 makes the scare factor better. The graininess, the better graphics, the fog. But SH1 does have that classic quality.
