Hey, Pheonix Wright is a good game.

Didn't have the oppertunity to play it then due to a lack of interest in portable gaming. Got it off the app store a few weeks ago and was surprised how...how...GOOD it was. I thought the Steel Samurai case was gonna be some bull**** filler and was once again surprised when it went into a whole new direction.

I'm at the second-to-the-last case and am stuck and uninterested due to the whole "look everywhere and show people your junk" gameplay. But I kinda understand, gotta have something else besides awesome objections and failing to give the right evidence.

Hopefully the sequels and spin-offs are just as good or even better.

Oh, man, welcome to the fold, friend. The first game is unlike anything else. You're at the lake murder case? Those last two cases are tough nuts to crack, but they're so satisfying, man.

The second game has the odd distinction of containing both the best and worst cases of the series, in my opinion. The third one can be kind of out there in logic sometimes, but it has the best overall story that links all the cases together, I think.

They're some of the best video game sequels. Aside from expanding on gameplay, the story really opens up and explores the characters by putting them in crazy situations.

    I love it.

How do the sequels expand gameplay past just putting psyche locks to slow down your progress further?

I won't deny that the stakes in the third game are really awesome. It's just that the series has a lot of ridiculous adventure game logic that makes them suffer.

I know they're not quite the same thing, but I think 999 is the superior experience to Phoenix Wright.

I love all the Pheonix Wright games. Murder mysteries are one of my favorite stories.

I just hope they can get cracking on the true sequel to the last offical game. I got to know what happen to Maya.

I love the Phoenix Wright games. The last case is epic. If you like those, PLEASE check out Ghost Trick and 999 as well. Did you know Ghost Trick is out for iOS in Japan? Lucky devils.

BTW, I had recently finished the Miles Edgeworth: Investigations game and enjoyed it thuroughly. Then i heard we probably won't be getting hte sequel in the states. That makes me a sad panda.

I try not to take the logic in video game worlds too seriously. for one thing, courtroom trials are held three days after an arrest is made. I love that the Phoenix Wright games don't sacrifice good story for realism, because they don't usually go hand in hand.

Yeah I wasn't trying to say that the lack of realism annoyed me. It's just that whole thing where you KNOW who did it and how, but the game wants you to go through a couple additional song and dances before you can actually prove the guy guilty.

Isn't that a lawyer's job in the first place?

No, the psyche locks are definitely baloney. My comment about expanding on the gameplay was mostly rhetoric. Actually, I think the best thing about Phoenix Wright is that you don't really NEED to expand on the gameplay to make a good sequel. All you need is more interesting frames for each case.

Though, I forget which game did it, the BEST decision they made was the ability to present character profiles as evidence. I spent so much time presenting every single character profile and piece of evidence to Gumshoe during one of the last cases. He had something to say about nearly every single thing.

But really, the best thing about the series as a whole is seeing everything Phoenix is subjected to and what he has to go through to stay on top. In terms of really fascinating video game legacies sustained over several titles, I'd put him up there with Solid Snake.

Though you can't really understand fully until you play Apollo Justice. :3
