    My 3DS is bricked

Wow. My 3DS had plenty of power and was working fine a few minutes ago...now it won't turn on and won't take a charge. Go Nintendo.

That sucks Kire, i hope it is something that can be fixed or something. Otherwise i guess it needs to be replaced.

Personally, i'll probably have an NGP before i even consider buying a 3DS unless something that i must have comes before that.

Early adoption on electronic devices...it's almost never a good idea.

Nintendo will fix for free. Just contact them. My Wii crapped out (warranty expired, too) they sent me a shipping box for it via next day mail, with pre-paid next day mail back. It was repaired, and again, sent next-day back. I was without it for just 5-6 days, and never paid a cent.

No, Valkysas, obviously Nintendo makes shoddy products and hates their customers.

Speaking of which, my 360 red-ringed on me last night.

I'm at a friend's place this weekend, I'll deal with it on Monday.

                      THE PLOT THICKENS!!!

So...I check it this morning. Still nothing. After a couple hours, I try it again. IT WORKS. Full battery. Weird.

I don't know. Maybe something is loose. I guess if it happens again I'll have it sent in. Crisis averted for now.

****. I played a little street fighter and closed it. It's not turning on again and it's pretty hot. Maybe it's overheating.

So yes, not working again. I'll let it cool down, this thing prolly has to go back.

Out of a paranoid curiousity...you have the newer "slim" model or one of the older models?

Off-topic, but to answer the question: My first 360 was a first-gen Elite that lasted 8 months. The one that just RRoD'ed was a third-gen (I think) Elite that was the first one's replacement. It had a manufacture date of April 13, 2008. So, yes, it did last three years, but there were spans of 4-7 months where I either did not turn it on, or played it for an hour or two for that entire period. The RB series is about the only thing I really used it for that I'd spend more than 2-3 hours at a given time. I jokingly called my 360 my Rock Band-playing device. It RRoD'ed after whatever the last update was, and it changed my resolution settings during the update, apparently, so I couldn't even see anything through HDMI, component, or composite on either my LCD or my plasma. While trying to get it to output SOME sort of video signal, it RRoD'ed on me.

Sorry for the momentary topic derailment.
