2011 MARCH MADNESS (worst. finale. EVER.)

    Wow.

Out of 5.9 MILLION entries on ESPN.COM...only TWO got the Final Four EXACTLY RIGHT.

    I was one of them

Give me a medal. RIGHT. NOW.

I don't want to talk about it. It's too soon.

Also, I hope you're joking about having the exact Final Four. Because if you aren't, you're either a moron or a witch.

I made the other perfect bracket...

        And I'm also Spartacus.

I hate the ncaa tournament. College football gets ripped all the time but its a much better system IMO. Butler/VCU will get destroyed by Kentucky/UConn. The cinderella teams never actually get anywhere, they just get lucky and knock out a big name or two and give some other team an easy win.

Just as I'm hoping that Funk is lying about being insane enough to have picked Butler to go the 4, I'm hoping you're just trolling by stating something so incredibly dumb. Luck alone cannot propel a team to the Final 4. VCU was a play-in team, so they needed 5 wins to get to this point. At least 4 of which were against higher-seeded teams. As for the BCS, it's an improvement on what they had before, but still pretty much crap. It leaves far too much ambiguity on the best team, where is simply no room for that after March Madness ends (also, there's way too many guaranteed bowl bids, or focus on picking teams for ratings instead of merit; I love my Bulldogs, but they didn't deserve a bowl last season. They deserved a boot-to-the-head). Tournaments are better. That's why there's so many people calling for one in football, and no one at all calling for the end of the basketball one.

Do you uh, get anything for this? Or just bragging rights?

First of all, you guys need to stop using the term "trolling" when you clearly have no idea at all what it means.

This is a terrible final four. VCU is in no way a top team in the country. They finished like 4th in their pathetic conference. I'm not saying that the BCS is perfect, but its much better than a 64 team tournament where VCU could be crowned "champion". I'd be fine with a 4/6/8 team tournament in CFB, but having such a huge one-and-done tournament like this makes the regular season meaningless. If a team wins like 65% of their games and has a decent reputation they're automatically given a chance to win it all. That's crap. Why not just have one enormous tournament from October to April and scrap the regular season altogether?

Thats pretty much the first thing that popped into my mind when I read Sampson's post.

Dude, a Cinderella team making it to the Final Four is pretty damn impressive. You don't have to win it all to have a good post-game.

As for Butler, really? You're a fool. Butler took out #1 Pitt, #4 Wisconsin, and #2 Florida. That doesn't sound to me as "getting lucky."

Because in Basketball the home team wins like 60-65% of the time, pretty irregardless of the quality of teams they play--In the NCAA tournament its even more if you play at home your first round. Generally, the higher seed that is playing, the closer to home they play--thus the top seeds, who did better in the regular season get a huge advantage. That, and a team that wins 65% of the time against high RPI teams is actually a pretty good record; teams like Colorado who won 65% of their games didn't make the tournament because they had extremely low RPI, very few top 50 RPI wins, and low strength of schedule. It isn't just about W-L, they have a specific formula to find the top 64 teams to include.

You need a larger pool to crown a champion because there is a hell of a lot more parity in basketball then there is in a sport like football. There are over 300 Div-I teams in basketball, 3 times that of college football. You need to let those other schools who can't compete in other Div-I sports have a chance.

Comparable analogy: If the Seahawks somehow made it to the super bowl, and won, they would deserve to be world champions because they did well enough to get into the playoffs, and had to beat the best of the best to get into the final game. The same applies on a larger scale in March Madness. Every school knows what they need to do to get into the tourney, you aren't expected to be in the top 25 to have a chance, it just makes it more likely you will win when you get there.

I'll be watching the Final Four just to see how far the Cinderella team gets. From what I've seen, they've looked very impressive.

Same here, I'm not really a basketball fan, but I do watch March Madness.

Sports would be extremely boring if the team that was supposed to win won every time.

The two guys who predicted the Final Four correctly were named vinquach and Jspearlman.

                        Second article.

Since Funk's last name isn't Pearlman, I guess this proves that he is vinquach. Congrats, Funk!

I would absolutely love this Final Four if it hadn't taken those luscious grapes away from me when they seemed to be within my grasp (seriously; 99 people in the pool, I'm ranked #1 as of Saturday, but Kansas was my one to win it all, thanks a buttload to VCWho? for that). But who wants an extra $500 anyway...

I want proof of Funk's vinquach-ness. And then recommend a psych eval for him if it is verified, because that bracket is a symptom of some serious mental malformities.

Butler was in the Championship game LAST YEAR.

They shouldn't even be considered a Cinderella team.

Funk, ARE YOU SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR BRACKET.

I'm happy for VCU. (is from Va.).

                              Sampson, lay off the hater-ade.
