View Full Version : Lord of the Shoes - RMXP
Hell, it's a go. FINALLY. Some people have read the script. It's being TOTALLY revamped. Well, the central ideas are still there.
-You want Black Riders on Segway Scooters? You got 'em.
-Robotic Clowns might be a possibility, yes indeed.
-Giant fish? Well, almost an RPG cliché but I'm using one.
-Dogs in wizard hats? Can leave home without 'em.
-Oh, and you can't forget the circus midgets. Four of 'em will be at YOUR disposal.
Oh, and I may not be getting RM3. But that's OK.
I don't know how long this game will take, but it's going to be my big one. I'm trying to revive that Earthbound feeling in this one, and if you want to play a crazy game in a modern setting, then Lord of the Shoes should be right up your alley.

Like... Lord of the Flies, or Lord of the Rings?
Lord of the Shoes, but I'm not adverse to a few Lord of the Flies references, as well. Both are quality books.

I guess I should know more before I ask stupid questions.
I own Lord of the Flies. I even made some interesting suggestions about the symbolism during my English Lit class that I was commended on.
Now if I could only remember what they were.
I did a book report on the book, as well. I like the Simpsons episode based on the book.

Does a person have to have RMXP to be able to play games made on it?
From what I remember: no. I BELIEVE it turns it into an executable, but don't quote me on that.

You don't have to include rmxp but you MUST include all the files you used to make the game and check mark "no" to the dependabilities in the options tab. I'll explain it once the english version is released and you can figure out what I'm talking about.

I don't know how long this game will takeImagine creating an RPGM1 game with a keyboard. Yup.
Yeah, it shouldn't be too bad, other than creating custom graphics. I wish I could do some custom music, but I don't really have any musical talent that I know of.

Imagine creating an RPGM1 game with a keyboard. Yup.
But with the RGSS, it's more customizable than RM2 if you take the time to learn how.
I will take the time to learn how.
I messed around in Photoshop to see if I could make a decent pixel character. Here is the result:

That is an awesome fish.
Lord of the Shoes is looking to be the Earthbound of RPGM XP.
Hopefully, as it looks like we'll never get a sequel to Mother 2.
Looks like we gotta break out the worcestershire, then!
