Spartacus: Gods of the Arena & Blood and Sand

I just finished the first season of spartacus: Gods of the Arena. Anyone else seen it? Very entertaining, not to mention all the sex and violence you can shake a stick at.

    Actually it's thoroughly retarded.

I thought that's why the Pavilion liked things :V

I hear the show is terrible on the internet, but everyone I know in person likes it. But they generally don't have very good taste.

It appeals in the way every Sam Raimi show has appealed to me, though with less flair and silliness than his other outings.

And it's another one of those things that is pretty good at drawing up sympathetic characters and then dragging them through hell and back with little to no respite to make their personal journeys worth having experienced.

It is absolutely wonderful on all base levels.

If you're looking for insight into why your uncle didn't share his caramel apple with you at the circus in 1993. Don't watch it.

            Otherwise. Enjoy!

Mora, I should mention that I went back to watch Blood and Sand (the first series) after seeing the newest episodes, Gods of the Arena...

Gods of the Arena is much, MUCH better so far. Better written, not as hamfisted, better characterization, better special effects. I still like Blood & Sand so far, but GOTA was way better. I really loved the character Gannicus.

That's a pretty good characterization for him in the first few episodes.

Yeah, he's pretty much all about the booze, women and killin' fools.
