    Child of Eden

I know a number of us have been talking about this game over the past half year or so, but there's apparently no topic devoted to it.

They've already announced that it's Kinect compatible on the 360 (E3 stage demo was played using Kinect), but Tetsuya Mizuguchi is being really dicey on it being Move or 3D compatible.

Personally, I would think it would HAVE to be 3D compatible, and possibly Move compatible as well. Reason? Tetsuya Mizuguchi has a "band" called Genki Rockets. They played their 3D videos live at Sony's stage show at the GDC. Sony's corporate slogan for their entertainment products is "make.believe."

Genki Rockets have a 3D music video downloadable via PSN in Japan and also on Blu-Ray (which I imported a bit back). The song is entitled "make.believe."

They have an upcoming 3D Blu-Ray e.p. whose leadoff track is called Curiosity. Sony's video and music streaming service is called Qriocity (pronounced "curiosity "). And depending on which source you get your information from, Genki Rockets are doing the entire Child of Eden soundtrack.

Seeing as how Genki Rockets seem to be Sony's unofficial 3D spokesgroup, it would surprise me if both 3D and Move compatibility were not announced.

I've watched this song in 3D at least 8 or 9 times already. I love it, and I'll echo one of the comments to say that I've shed a few tears watching this. It's just so happy and positive and uplifting. And according to the comments, the girl is CG, not real.

Even if its not move compatible, its still coming to PS3 I thought?

    And I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't
So here's to drinks in the dark at the end of my road
And I'm ready to suffer and I'm ready to hope

Of course. I'm merely commenting that due to Mizuguchi's relationship with Sony (these live events, using Sony-themed slogans as their song titles, the fact that Genki Rockets' one album was released by Sony Music Japan), it would seem to me to be a no-brainer to make the PS3 version of the game 3D-compatible, if not Move compatible. Then again, it IS being published by Ubisoft, so who knows.

if that were true, it wouldn't be obvious that she was superimposed over the CG backgrounds. SHENANIGANS.

also, what the **** is this game even about? I've never heard of it before.

edit: watched the trailer. yawn. whatever. pretty colors and music. that's great. wonderful. have fun, guys. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

            The VIDEO, not the game!

              No.

              Youtube commenters are generally retarded.

You actually believe they could do such convincing CG for the girl, better than what most movie companies can do, in some music video? and then in contrast to that stunning display of technological capability, have rather "eh" quality for the CG environments?

Come on. You're smarter than this.

some shots of her may be CG. But it's the minority of them.

              EDIT: from the comments:
In Heavenly Star and Breeze there are real pictures of Rachel fast-flickered over an animation of her. In Star Line it's the real Rachel with clothes that can be CG'd. In this video it's mostly the real Rachel aside from the face shots at the very beginning and very end which are CG.
              So yeah.

                  Re: Child of Eden

Just looked on Amazon, and the 360 version has a street date of June 14th, and is priced at $49.99. The PS3 version is street-dated on July 14th, and is listed at $59.99. Yes, you can play it with the controller on the 360 and not just Kinect, but all of the Kinect-only games are priced at $49.99. All the Move-only games on PS3 are priced at $39.99. Seeing as how this is priced at a regular new-game pricepoint on the PS3 and not on the 360, and the release date is a month later, I think this might lend some credence to my hypothesis that it'll be in 3D on the PS3.

Yeah, I'm not sure why anyone would at this point if they have both systems. :/

                          Re: Child of Eden

What if you don't have a Kinect, and they DO end up announcing this in 3D on the PS3, and you DO have a 3D TV. Then the choice becomes obvious.

Also, my 360 red ringed a few days ago, so I'm wary of even buying anything for that console any more. I hope they announce Radiant Silvergun for the PS3...

360 gets red-ringed, Sony PSN and sites get hacker-attacked.

                            Gotta love that Sony reliability.

Reliable at being the gaming world's punching bag five years running.

I dunno. All I know is that the majority of my console gaming time is spent with downloadable games, and for my tastes, I prefer what PSN has to offer over XBLA.
