    [Blank] > [Blank]

Let's see how far this goes. Here's the idea. I'm gonna post a game, and reasons I think it is good. The next person will post a game, and either give reasons why it is better, or give reasons that the previously mentioned game is worse. I'm curious as to where this might lead. I'm gonna start out in the proverbial basement, and it can only go up from here.

    E.T. for the Atari 2600.

Even though it is held to be the worst game ever made, for a rushed development cycle (which I was not even aware of at the time), it turned out to be not half bad. The graphics were not as sparse and simplistic as some other games of its "genre" (Adventure, Haunted House). Its gameplay was also a bit deeper than those others. Granted, there was the much-maligned "falling into wells" gameplay mechanism, but as a whole, with its objective-based gameplay, along with its challenge level (a race against the clock, with enemies that hinder your progress...artificial difficulty (the wells) aside), this was about as close as the Atari came to a PC-style adventure game, excepting Raiders of the Lost Ark.

So, post any game (as bad as it may be) that you think is better than E.T., and give reasons. Then the next person do the same for the next one in line. You might want to "reserve" a spot by posting "next" or some such, and then immediately editing so this does not become a convoluted jumble.

Assuming this gets any type of response, that is.

I'll keep from jumping too far ahead of that quality-wise, or we'll have nowhere left to go before long.

Final Fantasy Legend for the Game Boy. Hard, grind-happy, virtually no redeeming features. But you could use Uzis, so suck it, Link's Awakening!
