Trying something new with my life.

I'm not really sure how I would go about talking about it, but I'm trying something new with my life, and I thought some of you here might find it interesting.

I'm putting a lot of my stuff up online as an experiment, to see what happens in my life from doing so.

A lot of what I have going up are papers that people normally don't go scanning and putting online.

I have more about what I'm doing here:

Is there a way to magnify this stuff? I have no idea what I'm looking at, or for that matter, why.

I believe you can download higher resolution images through facebook via a link in the lower left hand corner. At least that's where I saw a link to do so with.

So you have to use Facebook to figure out what you're trying to do?

You tried to off yourself but a month ago?

            Don't do that.

I thought it was actually quite interesting to look through all that stuff, though. Even if there were none of the juicy mental health documents, I could see this turning out to be pretty cool. Just random stuff like assignments would be somewhat interesting.

On thing about the blog: I'd remove the last line ("I wonder how slashdot will respond to this story…?"). It makes it sound like you're trying too hard to go viral, which is a sure way to not go viral.

The whole initial post makes him sound like he wants to go viral. The last line is just the clincher to that end. But I guess that's the aim of most people who make their private lives public.

Any way other than Facebook? I try hard not to go on there except when work demands it.

                  Hrafn,

However it sounds like isn't something I'm too concerned about.
In any case, thank you for your feedback.

Would you be able to tell me if this is a better presentation of what I have?

                  Thanks in advance.

Much better, since there's a magnifier.

Mate, you put your life out on full display in almost excruciating detail, specifically made mention of what the opinions of others to it would be, and you made a failed suicide attempt. This all does kinda point to you really wanting attention. An itch that going viral would certainly scratch. But hey, I might be off base. I'm not a shrink, nor do I play one on TV.

As far as an actual opinion on what's offered...so far, there's not much to say. It all centers around the one incident, unless there's other stuff that's still just available on Facebook. It might be an interesting thing later, when there's more variety. Probably too early to say if it'll play well long-term or not.

It is way cooler to use these sorts of primary documents without using any explanation to piece together a story etc. like a kind of epistolary novel. i dont know how often this is used besides epistolary novels, but from my pretty limited reading theres a novel by leanna howe called miko kings where she has like 60 pages in the middle of the book that are like drawings, newspaper clippings, hand written notes and annotated pages of just like primary documents.

its a pretty novel way of narrative that hasnt really been done to death yet.

It looks like a blog to me. Doesn't really stand out from others on the internet as far as I know. I hope it is successful for you though.

Yeah, I agree. I liked just the piles and piles of unexplained data and then trying to piece it together.

There's something called "Scholar's Walk" at the University of Minnesota that displays on a huge wall all these rough ideas from the notebooks of people like Bob Dylan, Nobel prize winners, etc.; sort of the first drafts of the great things that came for them later. That's kind of what this reminds me of in some sense.

It also reminds me of the diaries and other reports you come across in the first Resident Evil. :O
