Remember when phones were for talking?

    Just curious...
What kind of cell phone do you have?
    Who is your service provider?
How much do you pay per month?
What do you use your phone for the most?

I have an LG Rumor touch. It's a "feature phone" with a crappy touch screen and a pretty good slide out keyboard. I use Virgin Mobile because I can't find anything that suits me better than their $25 a month 300 min, unlimited data plan. My phone usage:

    1. texting/IM
    2. web surfing
    3. music
    4. games - I pretty much only play Texas Hold 'Em or UNO, my touchscreen is wonky so you can't play anything too well
    5. video - would be higher on the list if the screen wasn't so useless
    6. calls

I'm debating either upgrading to VM's new android phone or going back to using a pay-as-you-go phone and getting an iPod touch.
I want that Mulan McNugget sauce, Morty!

I pretty much only use my phone for texting, and as a tip calculator.

I have no need for a smart phone, I don't need to browse the web all the time--and my friends who have smart phones who browse the interwebs when we are hanging out kind of ****** me off.

I have an iPhone 4. it's pretty cool. I like it. people always gripe about the service and all that but I honestly don't have any problems with it, unless I'm using the Youtube app. that thing moves like molasses if you're further than five feet away from your wireless router.

Email, texting, work, checking traffic reports, hex calculator. I don't think I've ever used it as a phone yet, had it for 5 months or so....

Yeah. I have the big data plan and couple other packages and whatnot.

Believe it or not, having the iPhone is good for my career. Only upper management have iPhones - the peons get Android phones. When the owner sees me with my iPhone she thinks "promotion". :P So, it's worth the price.

Some sort of Samsung smartphone on a Verizon plan, which I use a good bit for texting and websurfing. Calling coming in a close third on utilized functions. Ringtones are "Diary of a Madman" for incoming texts, and "Bohemian Rhapsody" for calls. No games; I carry my PSP with me a good bit of the time, and I think the games on there are juuuuust a bit better.

I have the Blackberry Curve 8530, the purple model carried by Koodo here in Canada

For $85 +tax/month, I get unlimited everything. The BB itself was free with Koodo. I use it mostly for work... so phone calls during the day time. However when not working I use it for messaging and facebook.

I happen to like being able to pay off my student loans, among other things. Getting a promotion by working hard and kissing the owner's butt might mean I won't have to work three jobs someday.

So, yeah - I'll be a tool if it gets me paid.

Modern phones are way more important as status symbols than as communication devices, imo.

I have never used a cell phone in my entire life. I have never considered it an inconvenience either.

I just don't understand gaming on cell phones. I don't know how anyone can see anything one those tiny screens.

I have some touch screen... thing, that my sister gave me a couple of christmases ago. And uum I prepay and stuff so I pay what I want when I want. My primary use for it is actually as an alarm clock so that I can not miss work. They kind of want you to go to work. Of course there are times that I speak words into it. I never text because that's stupid.
