How good is it, is there any faults or downsides to it, and how much coding will i need to know?

    1) It's pretty good, I might argue it's the best one. Incredibly flexible, fairly intuitive, and oft used.

    2) Drawbacks include that it's strictly 2D and that the default battle system looks a lot like RPGM1's.

    3) No coding knowledge is necessary to make a decent game. If you want to mess with certain internal clockworks (critical hit formulas, for example), you'll need to know your way around code but you won't need to write any. If you want to do completely custom stuff, you will need to write some of it in code (but a lot can be done just using event commands).

Is it true that one line of code can mess your computer up.

            Strictly 2D.

I've heard the "bad code in games" paranoia before, but I don't know if it's warranted or not. XP works on vista. If you have any trouble, just change it to run in XP compatability mode.

Download the trial and check it out. You have nothing to lose.

                      Wait...

Did RPGMXP just go down in price?

                      When did this happen?

It was 50-60 bucks for a really long time, now it's 30.
