I too have a DOA DexDrive on my hands.
Pure conjecture, but I think keeping the device unplugged between uses might extend lifespan?

my mother gave me a dex drive the same year bof3 came out and its worked fine ever since. i dont have it plugged in most of the time but ive had it plugged in for years at a time and its still ok. just clean the dust from the various holes and it should work i guess. if its kapusta then who knows.Comment

It may be my laptop. I've been having power supply issues for the last week, so it's possible that it may be overloading and killing attached peripherals. Or I'm cursed. *shrug* Sounds like most of the time they work fine though.THANATYR: Dreamers Awake demo version now available here!Comment

out of every piece of software i have had the dex drive has had the biggest reputation for becoming doa. its only a divine miracle that ours have lasted and its no surprise as no new ones have been made and the doa has mostly died years ago.Comment

Just ordered my third one. The first worked for about a week, the second flickered and died when I connected it. DexDrive = unreliable yet essential.
