    workout/physical games review

Sooooooo, I'm prolly the only one who cares about this, but I thought you guys might like ot know what I think about the workout games out there...especially since some of them are contrary to popular opinion. Keep in mind I'm a slightly overweight guy who's athletic and already runs more than an hour a day. So yeah, let's do this.

    Wii Fit
Good in theory and kind of fun, but ultimately a bad workout tool. If you are any type of athlete, this will waste your time. I killed all the challenges it had and sold my balance board, as it stopped keeping accurate weight information as well (weight kept getting less accurate as I had a scale to compare it to).

    Kinect Dance Central
Yeah, I know this isn't technically a workout game, but this will really burn some cals, especially if you add 5 lb. weights and ankle weights. Get far enough to get to the hard dances and you have a good thing going. I wish I could just go from one dance to the other w/out stopping though...too much downtime between dances. Maybe in Dance Central 2?

    Kinect Biggest Loser: Ultimate Workout
SURPRISE! This is, IMHO, THE best workout title. Yes, the interface is a tad clunky, but it has some real nice personal touches and MOST IMPORTANTLY, the workouts are killer. I am on the Intense (highest setting) for a 50 minute workout burning over 600 calories and I couldn't walk this morning w/ all my muscles hurting. Fun challenges and video diary are a plus. Good stuff here.

    Kinect Your Shape: Fitness Evolved
SURPRISE! This is really overrated. The interface is very slick and is nice for tech demos, BUT! The workouts aren't all that great, and it keeps inturrupting the workout to teach you new moves that DON'T NEED TEACHING. I tried to turn this off to no avail. Even so, the workouts aren't that great and aren't that intense. A lot of the games are fun but not exactly a challenge.

I'll be interested to check out future titles such as the Ultimate Fighter workout Kinect game later this year. Hope you found this at least semi-helpful.

I saw a bunch of vids and reviews of it and I didn't like it...just seemed like too much cash to plunk down, and it seemed even more cold and sterile than Your Shape. Reminded me too much of Wii Fit from what I saw. Maybe I'll get it in the future though, but I probably won't.
